Yesterday we saw this mesmerizingly bold new X-Men emblem (below) and today we have the first official trailer. Quite uncanny, wouldn’t you say? Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. Well this is more of a teaser than anything else but still more than an announcement. Funny how there are so many categories for something as brief as a movie trailer. Oh well, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies, behold – Xavier’s First Class: Well that certainly lived up to the hype. I’m totally digging the direction of this (using the Cuban Missile Crisis as a backdrop to the story) and the retro feel of it has me more than intrigued. I’m hopeful especially since Mr.…

Ohhh, Look…’X-Men: First Class’ Official Photos
Yesterday the web was a buzz over the casting of Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. While it wasn’t anything that great (I think Hardy is awesome but not impresses with Hathaway) the other comic related bit was this suspicious X-Men photo: Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), January Jones (Emma Frost), Jason Flemyng (Azazel), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Lucas Till (Havok), Zoe Kravitz (Angel Salvadore), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) and James McAvoy (Charles Xavier)

G-S-T Review…Kick-Ass
Not being very familiar with Kick-Ass, I was excited because of how the trailers looked and felt, but more importantly, the fact that this is directed by long time Guy Ritchie collaborator, Matthew Vaughn. So, knowing little to nothing about the “source material” I walked into the theater hoping for a ride as sweet as Red Mist‘s Mustang. In short, the movie didn’t live up to the trailers but was still an enjoyable time. PREMISE: Without any super powers to be found (or injected by radio-active insects) Dave Lizewski, after reading a few too many comic books, decides to become a real life superhero. Taking a fair amounts of knocks in his newfound profession…

Final ‘Kick Ass’ Poster Released
While this movie is quickly becoming my most anticipated film to see in 2010 (right behind The Expendables and Robin Hood), this FINAL poster for Kick-Ass is icing on the cake. This was released a few days ago and if I wasn’t already sold on the film, this would totally convince me to see it. If you don’t already know everything about the film, let me enlighten you: Kick-Ass , the film adaptation from the comic book of the same name) is written and directed by Matthew Vaughn (of the awesome Layer Cake). The films follows the story of a boy without super powers attempting to become a super-hero. Lionsgate is…

Sweet Trailer…'Kick-Ass'
Oh now this is good news to start the week off!! The 2nd Kick-Ass trailer debuted on Friday and all I have to say is that I may have another film now running neck and neck with The Expendables and Robin Hood for most anticipated film of 2010. I think everyone, by now, should already be aware of and excited for this movie so I won’t take up any more time writing about it. For now, feast on this… I like that this trailer (and the others released before now) shows new and different footage, as most trailers out there show the same content with very minor variation…oh, and this one…

Sweet Trailers…'Daybreakers' and 'Kick-Ass'
Well I know I am a little late in posting these but I thought I would make up for my tardiness with a perfect “one-two punch” of what looks like trailer gold. Previously we had posted the first Daybreakers trailer, but this new one looks like icing on top of icing on an already sweet cake. Please trailer gods, don’t tease me like this. I truly hope this film will be as good as they make it look. The last (supposed) vampire hunting extravaganza I can recall was Blade: Trinity (which was an awful, awful mess) so here’s hoping Daybreakers brings this fun incubus sub-genre back to form with 2 words: Willem.…
