If you thought 2023 didn’t have any more surprises, then how about this?? To help wind down a banner year for films, here’s an old-school murder mystery from Kenneth Brangagh. Just in time for Halloween, the Oscar-winning thespian/director once again dons his famous mustache in his third outing playing celebrated sleuth Hercule Poirot. This film sets him in an unsettling supernatural thriller based upon the novel “Hallowe’en Party” by Agatha Christie. And per usual, the locations are dreamy (or nightmarish in this case), the wordplay is razor sharp, the costumes are stunning and the all-star cast is a yet another brilliant ensemble. Have a look and get ready for another…

Sweet Trailer…'The Lady'
Wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen something from Luc Besson that looked this good! The Lady is a film adaptation chronicling the life of pro-democracy activist Aung San Suu Kyi and the academic and writer Michael Aris. It’s a true story of love set against political turmoil that really really looks like a stunner with tons of emotional weight behind it. Have a look for yourselves… The Lady stars Michelle Yeoh (as real-life Burmese political leader Aung San Suu Kyi) and I’m glad to see her taking a role that’s against type. I’ve been saying it for years that sure she can high kick but she can also act…

Ohhh, Look…The New Characters of 'Kung Fu Panda 2'
Over the years, Dreamworks Animation has been pretty hot on the heels of Pixar and dare I say even going toe to toe with their last couple of films. How to Train Your Dragon was a huge hit and they have just been putting out higher and higher quality pictures. I think it’s safe to say they have found their groove. Personally I adore 2008’s Kung Fu Panda and am eager to see what Dreamworks can do to expand the story. So what will Kung Fu Panda 2 have in store for us? From the looks of the images below, quite a lot! From ScreenRant, here are the first images of the new faces in…

Off the Netflix Queue…'Babylon A.D.'
Boy it’s been a while since I’ve seen Vin Diesel in anything worth mentioning. To me, Boiler Room was his very best work. Why do you ask?? Because the movie wasn’t centered around him, that’s why. I may be alone in thinking this but he doesn’t have the chops to carry a film all by himself, and so he makes more of an impression when playing a bit part or part of, and I use the phrase loosely, an ensemble…i.e. Saving Private Ryan and Boiler Room. Admittedly I liked Pitch Black but that was a bit of an anomaly. In short, Babylon A.D. was yet another lack luster Vin Diesel vehicle that didn’t play…
