When it comes to studios that deliver hit after hit after hit, it’s tough to compete with A24 who are one of the few who constantly bring the goods. Their brand of cinemagic is realism and, further, one with tangible human stories that make a real connection. As such, we’re really looking forward to this one from Lee Isaac Chung. Sometimes you just need a movie that gets right to your heart, right? If so, then enjoy the trailer for the Steven Yeun-led Minari. A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own…

Sweet Trailer…Michael Shannon in ‘Echo Boomers’
2020 is a weird time to be living in. Seems like there’s always bad news, and a crisis looming behind every headline. From COVID to weather to finance, it seems like we just can’t get ahead. But, wouldn’t it be great if we could level the playing field? Well, if you haven’t seen it yet, you should check out the fist trailer for Echo Boomers. It’s a stylized heist film that is a good mix of Robin Hood, Spring Breakers and Widows and, best of all, it stars Michael Shannon. We’re fans, so of course we’re game. Two-time Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon (Knives Out) stars in this gripping crime-thriller…

Sweet Trailer…’The Croods: A New Age’
Well, file this under ‘U’ for unexpected, unbelievable, and utterly awesome. One of our very, very favorite films from the last decade is, hands down, The Croods. What Dreamworks and team did was deliver something so inventive, so imaginative, and so darn fun, I can’t understand why it hasn’t captured more of an audience. We raved about it in 2013 (check out our glowing review here) and I’ve loved it every single time I’ve seen it since. And now we have a sequel!! There’s something so incredibly charming about this family dynamic (including the stellar cast who are all back for this sequel) set against the simply gorgeous pre-hysterial narrative…

Sweet Trailer…Jimmy O. Yang in ‘The Opening Act’
They say that laughter is the best medicine. And after this year, we’re gonna need a lot of it. So if your funny bone is need of some tickling, then check out The Opening Act. The latest from the RLJ Entertainment films follows Jimmy O. Yang (Silicon Valley) who dreams of being a stand-up comedian. It’s a long way to the top, and he’s got no shortage of hecklers and challenges along the way making him question how much he really wants it. Whether or not this is the Rocky of the stand-up comedy genre remains to be seen. But if having Vince Vaughn & Peter Billingsley on board as…

Sweet Trailer…’Bill & Ted Face the Music’
Whoa. The wait is finally over. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are back, and star in the first official trailer for Bill & Ted Face the Music! Can’t believe this is almost upon us, but in these crazy times I think we need a feel-good type of film that picks us up and rocks our world. This sequel is directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) and the score will be composed by Mark Isham – two equally triumphant dudes. Remember: Be excellent to each other annnd Party on, dudes! Once told they’d save the universe during a time-traveling adventure, 2 would-be rockers from San Dimas, California find themselves as middle-aged…

Sweet Trailer…’Fisherman’s Friends’
Sometimes we all need to get away. In the latest from Samuel Goldwyn Films comes a delightful little comedy about enjoying the little things. And when are we not going to highlight anything with James Purefoy? Anyway, this is the kind of small film that we think will have a big impact, similar to hilarious and heartfelt efforts like Sing Street, The Grand Seduction, and The Young Offenders to name a few. It’s a fish out of water story that teaches us to reevaluate and ultimately question what success really means. Enjoy! Ten fisherman from Cornwall are signed by Universal Records and achieve a top ten hit with their debut…

Sweet Trailer…Wes Anderson’s ‘The French Dispatch’
Can you believe that this year we’ll get to see Wes Anderson’s 10th film? Better yet, can you imagine a world without Wes Anderson? It’s tough to do even if some people *cough, Honest Trailers, cough* think his movies are all the same. True, he has his style, and that’s what makes him, for close to three decades, one of the finest auteurs working today. I for one thought there would be nowhere to go after The Grand Budapest Hotel to say nothing of the stunning attention to detail in Isle of Dogs. Yet here we are. So please enjoy this first look at The French Dispatch as well as…
