The Grindhouse revival has fallen off in the past several years, but that’s just what makes this trailer so surprising. It’s unexpected, outlandish, and a really inventive take on a mythic figure like Santa Claus. It’s always a laugh when genre films play with holidays (see Anna and the Apocalypse), and this looks to be jolly good fun…especially with him how serious they are taking it. The film might not have the legs for a full feature, but for a trailer it’s highly intriguing. I’m all in. Enjoy Mel Gibson and Walton Goggins in the trailer for Saban Films’ Fatman. To save his declining business, Chris Cringle (Mel Gibson), also…

Sweet Trailer…Quentin Tarantino’s ‘The Hateful Eight’
For a filmmaker who is on the cusp of his own portended retirement, this could be one helluva swan song. Quentin Tarantino returns with his eagerly anticipated The Hateful Eight and already it looks like it will be everything we’ve been expecting. Touting a full-on roster of QT regulars, this snow bound, star-studded tale of betrayal and deception is going to be all the more striking when the Quentin’s glorious crimson spatters decorate a snowy white landscape. Man, this really makes me want to dive into Quentin’s last 4 or 5 films (especially Django), or any number of Kurt Russell flicks, just to tide me over. One thing is for…

G-S-T Review…Machete Kills
In the pantheon of Grindhouse revival films, if there ever were such a place, Machete Kills should go down as one of its stupidest but also one of the most fun times you can have in 2013. Now all you Trejo/Rodriguez fans can sheath your machetes, the term stupid is used with immense love and respect for Rodriguez and company…but this film is simply ludicrous. It goes without saying that a film like this makes no effort to be realistic. How can it when it’s a cornucopia of all sorts of genre-themed oddities, including but not limited to ray guns, clones, wacky explosions/violence, Mel Gibson as a Bond-esqe villain and Charlie…

Sweet 2nd Trailer…'Django Unchained'
It’s tough to believe it’s been 4 whole months since we got our first look at Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained. Well they say that good things are worth waiting for because this trailer is all kinds of awesome. Featuring QT’s razor sharp writing and some of the finest acting talent on the planet, this looks like the movie to beat this year (sorry Hobbit) and will make one helluva Christmas present. No more talk…enjoy!! Starring Oscar-winners Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Oscar-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio this follow-up to Inglourious Basterds can be expected to be equally saturated in great writing, superb acting and memorable characters/exchanges. Oh, man we can’t wait for this!! The Weinstien Company and Columbia Pictures have Django Unchained (“the D is silent“) scheduled to hit…
