Sweet Trailer…Wally Pfister’s ‘Transcendence’
If the name Christopher Nolan means anything to you then the name Wally Pfister should be just as familiar. Long time collaborator and Nolan’s go-to cinematographer/visual genius is making his directorial debut with this riveting sci-fi thriller for Warner Bros. This second trailer gives a deeper look into the story but from the images and plot details hinted at in the first trailer I’m amazed that the concepts will be able to fit into one film. This looks like it should be a mini-series, or trilogy at the very least. Anyway, enjoy this spell-binding trailer and synopsis below… A terminally ill scientist downloads his mind into a computer. This grants…

Ohhh Look…'300: Rise of an Empire' Featurette Showcases Characters and Explains Story
For all you action hounds awaiting a second course of Spartan glory, that time is almost at hand. To whet your appetites, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have released a tasty featurette for the Noam Murro directed 300: Rise of an Empire. The last trailer to come down the pike gave us a good idea of what to expect, story-wise, but this goes even further. It’s roughly the kind of surface level but in-depth feature you’ll find on the Blu Ray but oh well. Have a look as Murro and co., even Zack Snyder help connect the dots to the adrenaline fueled 2006 dance of death, better known as 300. Enjoy…

Sweet Trailer…'Grudge Match'
Busier and busier in recent years, Sly Stallone continues to show us he still has the eye of the tiger. He’s said goodbye to Rocky and Rambo but with films like this, the upcoming prison flick Escape Plan (which co-stars Schwarzenegger) and The Expendables 3 currently filming, there’s just no slowing down this iconic action hero/renaissance man. Have a look at the first trailer for Grudge Match. In Grudge Match, or as we like to call it The Adventures of Rocky & Bull Niro, Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro as a pair of aging boxing rivals who are coaxed out of retirement to fight one final bout – 50 years after their title…

Lighting The Affleck Signal
Preface: I don’t really have a dog in the entire “who should play Batman next” fight, and as a general rule I don’t find rampant fan-casting to be either productive or a rewarding use of my time*. More than that, I don’t really care for the current big-screen iteration of Batman (outside of The Dark Knight, a film I enjoy but consider flawed, I think Nolan’s Bat-franchise happens to be one of the most overrated contemporary movie trilogies), and I presume that DC’s intention going forward is to rely on those films as canon when building their Justice League brand in time to counter Marvel’s Avengers pictures. And yet here…

Warner Bros. Taking Homer's Odyssey to the Moon
I can honestly admit that while I read an absolutely enormous amount of Greek mythology as a lad– courtesy of taking Latin as a language through middle school and high school– I never wondered what Homer’s Odyssey would look like as a space opera. Fortunately, there are dreamers in the world with grander imaginations than my own, because it sounds like Warner Bros. wants to push the Greek poet’s vision out of Ithaca and Scheria (and countless other locations) into the final frontier with the aid of screenwriter James DiLapo, author of the screenplay for the blacklisted period thriller Devils At Play. Is this good news or bad news? I still have a bad…
