Jermaine Stegall is an accomplished and versatile composer and conductor. Stegall’s extensive music studies include a BA from Northern Illinois University’s School of Music, a Master’s degree in Music Composition from the University of North Texas, and the prestigious Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program at USC. Following his formal education, he was selected as a Sundance Composer Lab Fellow, as well as the BMI Conducting Workshop. Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues to take the world by storm, but that shouldn’t be news to anyone. It is Star Wars after all, but with J.J. Abrams at the helm, things looked really good from the get-go. The film isn’t perfect (pacing is sluggish at times, and villains, at this point, are under-cooked), but it is highly enjoyable, and that’s all thanks to solid writing, and the collage of themes and characters both old and new. Abrams, after proving his mettle revitalizing the Star Trek franchise, brings us a story that expands on everything that has come before and, more importantly, hits the right chord with fans. The 86th Annual Academy Awards – Full Winners List
The 86th Academy Awards aired last night and showcased everything we love about Hollywood and the film industry. Lots of great talent took home some deserving awards but it was Alfonso Cuarón‘s space fiasco Gravity which nabbed a total of 7 awards, including Best Director, Cinematography plus Best Original Score (go Steven Price!!). Dallas Buyers Club seemed to be a big surprise taking both the male acting categories and even hair and make-up. However the big shocker was that American Hustle, a film that was far less than the sum of its spectacular parts, took home zero awards after being nominated in 10 categories. William Ross has had a hand in all avenues of the music industry. A four-time Emmy winner, Ross has decades of experience as a composer, orchestrator, arranger, conductor and music director.
