Interview…Brandi Burkhardt on Singing, Dreaming and Summertime Fun

We had a lot of fun on the show today with Brandi Burkhardt. This seasoned song siren has done it all – from stage to screen to voice overs and more. She’s had a memorable role as ‘Crickett Watts’ on Hart of Dixie and in films like Confessions of a Shopaholic and A24’s Friendship (which is in theaters now). Burkhardt has also done many guest spots on hit television shows such as Mad Men, How I Met Your Mother, Boston Legal, Numb3rs, Brothers & Sisters, The Defenders, NCIS and others.

Performing is in her blood, and when she’s not acting, she’s turning heads with her sensational voice that is suited for the theatre. In our eyes, or ears rather, her rendition of “Gold” from the Camille Claudel musical is astounding beyond words. But she can do no wrong in any setting or venue.

On Broadway, Brandi dazzled as ‘Sophie’ in “Mamma Mia!” and captivated audiences with her role as ‘Lucie Manette’ in “A Tale of Two Cities” alongside James Barbour. She brought this iconic role to life on Broadway, in London, and for PBS. Her impressive stage credits continue with unforgettable performances as‘Guenevere’ in “Camelot” with Tony Award winner Robert Sean Leonard, Marian Paroo in “The Music Man” with Shirley Jones, and as ‘Daisy Mae ’in “Lil’ Abner” for Los Angeles’s Reprise series. She’s toured as ‘Emma’ in “Jekyll & Hyde: Resurrection,” and brought to life classic roles such as ‘Laurey’ in “Oklahoma!,” ‘Juliet’ in “Romeo & Juliet,”and ‘Maria’ in “The Sound of Music.”

Any creative will tell you that it takes courage to put yourself or your stuff out there. Further, trying new things is part of what keeps you fresh, and getting something out can also be entirely cathartic. As such, her fun and emotional 6-track EP “just / like / this” is Brandi Burkhardt’s debut co-written and produced with Nate Lanzino, Yoni Carlsen, Tuomo Korander, and Tommy Vatanen. The project blends 80s/90s-inspired pop with cinematic storytelling and modern vulnerability.

So join us on this episode of The GoSeeTalk Podcast Experience and enjoy this peppy trip down memory lane with Brandi Burkhardt! She takes us on a journey through emotional clarity, late-night longing, and the kind of moments that quietly change everything.
