As human beings, we have a real tough time seeing eye to on a lot of issues: sports, food, fashion, politics, etc. In fact, the list goes on and on. But what can we agree on (or at least understand and put up with) to be able to share a country, a state, an office or even a relationship with? Can we disagree and still connect? Such is the idea behind writer/director Erik Bork‘s new film. The cleverly named The Elephant in the Room gives audiences Nora Ephron–style political rom-com that is both funny and thought-provoking.
Leah is a smart, driven social media strategist reeling from the 2020 election. Vincent is a grounded, genuinely friendly person who delivers not only food, but his honest truth. He voted for Trump, she voted for Biden. Kismet, until it was not. Can their undeniable chemistry and commonalities bridge their political divide?

Now this is Bork’s first time taking the helm for a project like this, but he’s got decades of experience coming up on some of the most noteworthy and outstanding projects in the last quarter century. Erik was a Supervising Producer on the entire Band of Brothers miniseries, working with Executive Producers Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, and also the writer of multiple episodes (credited on Episodes 8 and 10 out of 10.) He had previously been Co-Producer and Writer of multiple episodes of From the Earth to the Moon with Tom Hanks executive producing. That’s some pedigree.
We got to have a fast, fun and informative session with this seasoned creative talking about his first full-length directorial feature. Enjoy our chat with Erik on this episode of The GoSeeTalk Podcast Experience!
