The duo’s work in Japanese woodblock should more than delight art enthusiasts and those from the 8-bit generation. In 2010, Kick-Ass had a pretty favorable cinematic run. Thanks to Matthew Vaughn‘s stylized direction and the likable cast, it successfully blended a Spider-Man level origin story with the boundary pushing content from the comic that inspired it. William Shakespeare once said that “brevity is the soul of wit“…to all you 21st century entertainment fiends that means that “less is more“. So while some Pixar fans might lament at the idea of the Toy Story bunch being relegated to a series of shorts before Disney/Pixar feature films, it’s not a bad thing. Why?
