What is Super 8? Is it a throw-back kid driven adventure story? Is it a coming of age film with endearing characters? Is it an oddly familiar sci-fi story from two master storytellers re-branded for a new generation? Well it’s all of it and more but in short Super 8 is the kind of movie that reaffirms why people go the movies. In this mysterious, fun and fast moving film J.J. Abrams writes a love letter to Steven Spielberg in a way that will delight fans of all genres and age groups. However while I found it tough to stay away from the hype I have to say this didn’t…

Music For Relief Event – Rocking the Red Carpet With Vince Neil
It’s been just about 3 months since the monster 8.9 earthquake/tsunami devastated Japan. Still very conscious of the after effects, Music For Relief has been on the front lines to help raise funds for the earthquake relief efforts. But while theeqrthquake/tsunami rocked the Eastern part of the world, the U.S. rocked right back and who better to help aid the cause than legendary Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil? Well last night at the PLUSH lounge in Dallas a little ‘Rocking’ event was put on to help the relief efforts. Co-hosted by Greg Ingram, Drew Pearson, Paul Salfen and Randall Reed the night featured the likes of the bands Phoenix Benjamin, Scott Oldner Band and Brand…

Sweet (Shirtless) Trailer…’Breaking Dawn: Part I’
Anyone watching the MTV Movie Awards (boy I still think that in itself is a major contradiction) this year was again helped to some major Twilight teasing. Like the clip of New Moon that was shown in 2009 and last year’s Eclipse trailer, this first real look at the Twilight Saga’s final chapter (well Part I at least) was unveiled much to the screaming delight of the Twihards. For those of you missed it, have a look. And when a better quality clip becomes available, we’ll repost it. I’m not going to lie, I like Twilight (the first one anyway). Also, I kind of have to as Mrs. GoSeeTalk is a fan.…

G-S-T Review…X-Men: First Class
Going into yet another X-Men film would make even the most die hard fan weary. I mean, after the last two strike outs this seemed like the last at bat for The Uncanny. But dear friends, in this stylized throwback Singer wound up, hurled one over the plate and Vaughn knocked that grapefruit back, waaay back and out of the park. A new and different X-Men for a new generation, First Class, with confident strides, takes the X-Men series out of the ICU. As a fan myself I breathed a sigh of relief and then had to catch it after seeing Matthew Vaughn’s fantastic film.

Sweet(er) Trailer…'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'
Well now this is looking better than last time that’s for sure! In April we featured the teaser trailer for the upcoming prequel to the famous Planet of the Apes. This “before the fact” story tells how the apes took over and became the dominant species. Yahoo dropped this sweet looking trailer that, to us, is lightyears beyond the first. It’s really coming along very well and is worth a watch. Enjoy! It looks like it has the makings to be epic. Buuuut my gut tells me it’ll fall, at best, just a bit short. I mean, unless they’re planning a follow up to this to continue whatever story…

Ohhh, Look…Chronicles of Riddick Sequel Hints/Tidbits
Looking back I have to say that of all the recent sci-fi films, Pitch Black is definitly is a forgotten favorite of mine. It gets better with age and while I don’t regualrly watch it, whenever I do fire it up I constantly ask myself, “why am I not watching this more often?“. Maybe I’m still left with a bad taste in my mouth after the sequel…but who knows. Anyway, say what you will but Riddick is just one cool character. So while it’s been a good chunk of time since Riddick has graced the screen, I for one am up for a redeeming third film…and with the unexpected success…

Sweet Trailer…'50/50'
If life teaches us anything it’s that sometimes humor can get people through really tough patches. Case in point. 50/50 (or I’m With Cancer as it was originally called) is a film about Adam and how drastically his life is changed when he’s diagnosed with a brain tumor. His world is further turned upside down by the news that his chances to be beat the cancer are “50/50“. Luckily the trailer isn’t as dreary as the premise would make it seem, so have a look for yourself… Wow, I just can’t stop replaying this. The story looks great and if there’s one actor I am continually impressed with each time…

Sweet (Teaser) Trailer…'Happy Feet 2'
Riding on the crest of that wildly popular “penguin craze” of the mid 2000’s came a little animated film called Happy Feet. It was funny, cute, had a pretty noteworthy cast, breathtakingly realistic visuals (not to mention seamless integration of live action characters) and a not so preachy message. Well that was back in 2006 and now here we are getting back to that lovable bunch of Antartic dwelling sing-songy inhabitants. Have a look…even if this time they’re singing dreadful songs. I highly enjoyed the first film and loved both the characters and the music. This time it looks like they’re really going after a slightly different/younger (read: American Idol)…

Newest Additions To 'Total Recall' Remake (UPDATED)
While I still just don’t understand the need for this remake, one of the latest actors cast really intrigues me. For months there has been development on the remake of the sci-fi actioner Total Recall and recent news has just about summed up the major casting. Kate Beckinsale, it has been confirmed will play Lori, Quaid’s wife. The second female lead, Jessica Biel will play Melina, the woman from his dreams and soldier of the resistance (well that’s if elements of the Verhoeven film are repeated here).
