    Sweet Trailer…’Going the Distance’

Kind of funny that I would post the trailer for something that has just come out in theaters but this movie seems to be growing on me. The always likable everyman Justin Long and Drew Barrymore (hot off her directorial debut of the charming roller-derby film Whip It) star in this delightful looking romantic comedy. At first I cast this off as yet another avoidable Rom-Com but as the wife is into that kind of stuff I took a second look at the trailer and think this could be cute fun. Have a look for yourselves… In case that trailer didn’t tell you everything you needed to know, here’s a the full breakdown from the…

    Sweet Trailer…'The Walking Dead'

Not many TV shows get my attention but this is one I really really want to see. AMC has been developing the adaptation of The Walking Dead comic series and the pilot episode has been helmed by Oscar Winner Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile). “What’s it with all the Zombies these days?” you might ask. Well, much like the demeanor of the walking dead themselves, Zombies never really went away (like Vampires did) and this looks to have WIN all over it. So if you haven’t seen this trailer for the new show (or weren’t at Comic-Con this year), sit back and enjoy… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg46DWI_fCE For those of you…

    Sweet Trailer…'The Next Three Days'

I read something about this a few months ago and while it sounded intriguing, I just forgot about it. So time went by and here we have the a trailer for the latest from Russell Crowe and Oscar Winning writer/director Paul Haggis (Crash). American Gangster and State of Play didn’t do much for me but it doesn’t mean Crowe has lost it, they just didn’t work for me. That said, I like the look of the trailer and am eager to see more. Crowe plays a husband who’s wife has been arrested for murder and he’s planning to break her out. What better way than a post A-Team Liam Neeson…

    Sweet Trailer…’DC Universe Online’

OK this isn’t a movie trailer but, damn this is impressive and packs one hell of a punch. This is the trailer for the upcoming game DC Universe Online and as a cinematic trailer (read not game play) it shows such potential for DC if they ever wanted to do something better than the Justice League Cartoons. So have a look and let me know if you like it as much as I do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lGTfK4PmPw I’ve always been more of a Marvel fan myself but with stuff like this (add to it the great direction Nolan has taken Batman) DC has certainly been getting my attention more and more. Also their story…

    Sweet Trailer…'Sucker Punch'

Well the more I hear and see about Comic-Con 10, the more bummed that I was unable to attend. But thanks to absolutely great coverage by sites like First Showing (G-S-T’s top choice for up to the minute movie info) and Screen Rant (a site equally just as good) it’s just like being there…only way cheaper:P So if you haven’t been keeping up this and other anticipated films like it, behold, we simple people’s first look at Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch… There sure is a lot going on in the trailer, not sure how that cornucopia of great visuals will play out on screen in a cohesive story. But as far as the story…

    Jack Sparrow’s Comic-Con Announcement

There are a handful of sequels (and threequels) I can recall which have had completely unflattering efforts that are nothing short of insulting to some fans. Case in point: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. All that great build-up with 2 awesome films and what did we get? Just an awful, awful mess. As to keep hope alive and whet the die hard fans’ appetites, the end of the film was like a precursor of things to come where they hinted at yet another grand adventure of Captain Jack Sparrow. But after an ending like that, who really cared? That film put me off the series and that’s been my firm…

    Sweet Trailer…'The Company Men'

Here’s a movie I’ve been looking forward to for a while now. Previously we posted the teaser (well teaser as in it was sapmle footage used to find a distributor) but even then it looked pretty awesome. So now that the official trailer is here (and the Weinstein Company has picked it up) this will be released in select theaters this Fall. Have a watch; slight heart-warming hokiness and bad accents abound but it looks good to me! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPohmhNFwi4 The Company Men is a John Wells film about ‘corporate downsizing’ where Chris Cooper, Tommy Lee Jones and Ben Affleck play 3 such downsized employees. Affleck’s character looses his job and gets…

    Sweet Trailer…M. Night Shyamalan's 'Devil'

Well just when you think M. Night was washed up, here he comes with something that looks like he’s still got it. Below is the trailer for DEVIL. This film is all his idea but the first where he isn’t writing or directing it. Sounds like a good idea to me. I think he needs to take a step back and step off the “Lucas-Control-Freak-Express”. Trying to do it all I think has kept his last couple of films from reaching their potential. That said, I’m glad to see he producing this. That’s a perfect idea; have creative control but let someone else steer the boat. Anyways, check this out…it’s…

    Sweet Trailer…'Rango'

I know this came out on Tuesday but reworking G-S-T had me pretty occupied the past few days. Anyway, I think I’ve caught up on the things I’ve missed and this looks much more appealing than that teaser from a few weeks ago. It will certainly keep me laughing til the weekend! If you haven’t seen it, take a look… From our friends at First Showing we get the following information on this amazing and gorgeous looking film: Rango is being directed by filmmaker Gore Verbinski, of The Mexican, The Ring, The Weather Man, and all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The script was written by John Logan (Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Aviator, Sweeney Todd) based on a story…

    Sweet Trailer…'Splice'

The trailer for Vincenzo Natali’s Splice dropped at the end of last week and man, is this a pretty creepy sci-horror flick!! We first heard of this film in the Fall of last year but haven’t seen much since then…although lucky attendees to Sundance got to see it and have nothing but rave reviews. This trailer looks pretty slick and I like the confined nature that it looks like they’re going for. Or maybe that’s just because of the lab they’re in:P While some will automatically claim this looks surprisingly like a rip-off of Species given the plot synopsis, this looks quite a bit better (although there is no Natasha Henstridge…pity). Anyway, after…
