There are heroes. There are villains. And then there’s Peacemaker…
Fresh from his explosive role in last year’s hit film The Suicide Squad, and from the brilliantly twisted mind of James Gunn, comes PEACEMAKER – a new series achieving peace on HBO Max at any cost starting January 13.
The DC spinoff series is written and directed by James Gunn, and the show explores the continuing story of the character that John Cena reprises in the aftermath of Gunn’s 2021 film. The colorful patriot is a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost.
And like the titular character, seasoned composer Kevin Kiner doesn’t care how many ear drums he has to kill to give us great music. This is his third time working with Clint Mansell (Doom Patrol) to create something unique. Further, with all the hair metal running through the show, the score literally and figuratively rocks. To quote Peacemaker himself, “there’s no wrong time to rock!“
Please enjoy our time with Kevin as we talk about the show, working with his sons, and plenty of upcoming projects. Also, he has a vastly impressive collection of instruments (more than 100 guitars!) and we talk about some of the gems in his acoustic arsenal. Check out more of Kevin’s work at his official website.
Peacemaker stars John Cena as Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Steve Agee as Economos, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn and Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith. Gunn wrote all eight episodes of PEACEMAKER and directed five, including the first. Gunn, Peter Safran and Matt Miller serve as executive producers on the series, with Cena as co-executive producer.
Peacemaker premieres on HBO Max with the first three episodes, followed by weekly episode drops every Thursday for the remaining five episodes through February 17.
