One movie this year has had the pleasure of deep, deep, deep marketing pockets. Without a doubt, the winner of Advertising Campaign of the Year will go to our fuzzy friends The Muppets. A home run literally every time (from the first trailer to this last one) Disney and Jim Henson Studios have really pulled out all the stops. While the video below isn’t entirely a trailer for the upcoming movie or as smart as everything else so, it should still give you a chuckle still as it too showcases the satire and smarts that keep The Muppets socially relevant. So if you need a reminder about cinema etiquette, here’s a quick and funny by the numbers approach about what NOT to do once the lights go down in the theater.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a theatrical Muppets movie but this looks to channel the patented self-aware charm that made the classics like The Great Muppet Caper such a success. Like every Muppet film in the past you can bet on this being chock full of celebrity cameos large and small. Headlining so far are Jason Siegel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones, Zach Galifianakis, Ricky Gervais, Alan Arkin and Billy Crystal. You can expect to see The Muppets in theaters right before Thanksgiving this Fall on November 23rd, 2011.
I’m sold, what about you? Anyone eager for another fun outing with The Muppets??
