“Ah man, this fishing sucks, all we caught was a tire, a boot, an old tin can and this book of clichés”. Yeah, watch any movie these days and you’re bound to find more than the occasional cliche…even some that are intentionally thrown in as a wink and a nod to the audience. For laughs, the folks at the New York Latino International Film Festival have blown the whistle on some of the biggest offenders; those tried (tired really) and true elements of film that we’ve come to expect in sub-par films. But who are we kidding, we still love them even if they are so very unrealistic and overdone. Also it’s a pretty clever way to help promote their Film…

G-S-T Review…Rise of the Planet of the Apes
With a well established legacy of over 40 years in place, going the “prequel” route as the next entry to the Planet of the Apes franchise is not only ballsy but nearly impossible to keep from becoming, at best, an unflattering installment. Rise of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Rupert Wyatt who (with only one other feature length film to his name) certainly had a tough road to hoe considering this film would lead up to 1968’s iconic film. But with such a well crafted story that does service to the series, it’s safe to say he’s beaten the odds. Rise is a fine film, very fine in fact and better still,…

Ohhh, Look…First Image of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman for 'The Dark Knight Rises'
Not to be outdone by yesterday’s debut of the Big Blu Boy Scount in costume, WB has released an official costume shot from their other DC mainstay. Nope, not Batman, but rather his frenemy Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman). To be honest I really didn’t want to put this up as it’s not nearly as impressive as Supes new duds (and probably not the Catwoman costume either) but I’m intrigued with this shot of her on the…well, you’ll just have to see after the jump won’t you?

Ohhh, Look…First Image of Henry Cavill as Superman for 'Man of Steel'
Boy now this takes me back; I remember last time we got our first look at the “new” Superman. Today we get a look at the young Henry Cavill wearing Kal-El‘s iconic suit but I have to say I’m a little taken aback. Why’s that you ask? Well it’s the hair. Now while I really shouldn’t knit-pick this early in the game, I can’t help myself…all I can focus on is the hair. Am I the only one?? Well, if you haven’t seen it yet, have a look for yourself after the jump…

Off the Netflix Queue…'Cracks'
There’s that old saying that “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree“…and in the Scott family it seems that anyone sharing lineage with Sir Ridley is destined for greatness. Enter one Jordan Scott, daughter to Mr. Gladiator himself, who in her feature length directorial debut shows us she’s going places. Creating something original in Hollywood is tough enough but harder still is adapting someone else’s material. But from just the first 10 minutes or so this film, from 2009, shows us Scott has a solid career ahead of her that is coming up fast.

"Double Feature Theater" Blog-A-Thon
Welcome everyone to Go,See,Talk’s Double Feature Theater (or Theatre to our UK friends)!! Who doesn’t love a good double feature? Even if one movie turns out crappy you still get a good flick under your belt right? In this Blog-A-Thon I have assigned each of our participants a theater of their very own and asked them to create a week’s worth of Double Features which begins on Monday and ends on Sunday. The bonus here is that on Sunday there’s a Triple Feature so it might allow for a more creative and interesting line up for the end of the week. So with that said, dim the lights and enjoy the show!!!

Sweet Trailer…'Red Tails'
Well after the years of waiting for Lucas to release A. something other than Star Wars and B. Something other than re-releases of Star Wars, we get a first look at his WWII film Red Wing, I mean Red Tails. Geeze, this isn’t like Avatar but it seems like it took just as long in getting here huh? I guess we can say that good things are worth waiting for but then again I remember what happened last time we all got psyched up for a trailer. Still I’m staying optimistic as this is worth a look. Enjoy! Red Tails is directed Anthony Hemingway from a story by George Lucas and…

Sweet Trailer…'The Ides of March'
Just the thing to take our minds off the political/financial turmoil befalling our country; a politically heavy film about seedy side of the business. Is that a bad thing? Well not if it’s directed by and starring George Clooney it’s not. The story focuses on Ryan Gosling’s character who, as an idealistic staffer for a newbie presidential candidate, gets a crash course on dirty politics during his stint with the campaign staff. Have a look at the trailer via Yahoo… The Ides of March is a political drama based on Beau Willimon’s play Farragut North. Hopping on this campaign trail are Ryan Gosling, Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Evan…

G-S-T Review…Crazy, Stupid, Love
The idea behind Dan Fogleman’s Crazy, Stupid, Love seems to recall the lyric from the Joe song that goes, “bottom line, Love don’t make no sense“. In life, somethings you do are crazy, somethings you do are stupid but more so when you do it because you’re in love. Yet his film is less about going after what you really want. It tries (in typical rom-com fashion) to get you to find out who you are before you can start doing those crazy stupid things. Yeah, I guess that’s the best way to start this all off.
