    G-S-T Review…Rango

After the success of the previous Pirates installments, Gore Verbinski and Johnny Depp bring us another spectacular flick, this time in another equally believed dead genre. Rango is a gruff but gorgeous adventure replete with all the grandeur of the earlier Depp/Verbinski collaborations and delivers the fun we’ve come to expect from the pair. This time though their efforts yeild an epic tale that takes us on a great ride via a different medium. Enticing, creative and off the wall, this very funny tale gives a fresh yet vintage spin on the old and gritty spagetti westerns.

"Miyazaki Madness" 101…The Films of Studio Ghibli

With “Miyazai Madness” just days away I thought it appropriate to put together a little Studio Ghibli “cheat sheet” for all the films in the tournament. Below you’ll find the synopsis of each film so if you haven’t seen it, at least you’ll know the back story while the voting is going on. Hopefully it will give those of you new to Miyazaki, Takahata and Studio Ghibli a few suggestions of which you might want to check out. And since each poll will be open for a full week, there’s just enough time to watch any you haven’t seen and then cast your vote. The 16 films below are magical and loved the…

    Go,See,Talk Presents "Miyazaki Madness": March 7th – April 4th

Hey Everyone, this month we’ve got something special planned for all you fans of Studio Ghibli. As we announced last February, the entire month of March will be devoted to an event we’re calling “Miyazaki Madness“. Similar to the NCAA Tournament which inspired it, this month will focus on the films of iconic animation powerhouse Studio Ghibli, most known for legendary artists/storytellers Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata (both before and during their Ghibli years plus 1 from Hayao’s son Goro, 1 from Hiroyuki Morita and 1 from Yoshifumi Kondou). It’s Animation Domination here and we’re hoping to give the NCAA a run for their money this March…

    Ohhh, Look…New 'Cars 2' Characters

There’s one automobile related film I’m excited about this year and it ain’t Drive Angry. No, it’s Pixar’s Cars 2 and today we have our first look at 4 of the newest characters which not only look stunning but are backed with some high-profile voice talent. Over the past few weeks we’ve gotten to see all the new models for Cars 2 via the “Turntable Series” (click here to check them all out). This is week 8 of the new model reveals and each one really is better looking than the last. Have a look at the next round of Cars 2 characters:

    Go,See,Talk's Oscar Picks

Well it took me long enough but I’ve put a lot of thought into the nominees and below this blurb we present G-S-T’s Oscar picks. There really are a lot of great contenders as this years nominees have been fairly represented and given their due. I think I’ve voiced enough opinions about the criminal snubbing of Daft Punk for Best Original score and Christopher Nolan for Best Director so I’ll keep my peace. Last year’s Academy Awards were really quite an improvement over previous years. Seems that The Academy has certainly been moving back to making it more classy and respectable in both their presentation and overall production. I really…

Costner Approached for Snyder's Superman…Wait, WHAT?

Fans of G-S-T should know there are three actors I will watch in anything: Sylvester Stallone, Michael Keaton and Kevin Costner. Imagine my surprise yesterday to hear that Ray Kinsella himself, Kevin Costner (supposedly) has been approached regarding a role in Zack Snyder’s Superman film. Wow, this just makes me…sorry, *wipes tear of joy from face* this is the best news/rumor I’ve heard this year. But is this fan speculation or is there merit to it. Known for credible and very reliable facts, Latino Review is reporting what the role is but just because it’s on the internet doesn’t mean it’s written in stone…yet. I’m still waiting for news straight from the mouth of Zack Snyder. So…

    Sweet Trailer…’Cars 2′ Daytona 500 Spot

A few weeks ago, film fans watching the Super Bowl were treated to some great teaser trailers for the most anticipate films of 2011. The commercials were jam packed with trailers big and small but Cars 2 was oddly missing from that impressive line up. Well Pixar’s sequel about the continuing adventures of Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater got their due with this spot during the Daytona 500. Yeah, that event seemed better suited to them anyways. So while we’ve posted Cars 2 photos and videos in the past, I’ll take all I can get as I’m super excited for this sequel… Dag gum! Now if that’s not enough to see…

    Sweet Trailer…'Insidious'

From the mind of James Wan (Saw) comes what just might be the new standard in horror. Well let’s not get ahead of ourselves but this looks pretty awesome. Plus, if Alex at First Showing thinks it’s great, then it must be the real deal. Check out the trailer below… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXURMl8BdMo&feature=player_embedded I like how it takes all the predictable elements we’ve come to expect from horror films but combines them just enough to keep it interesting. Looks like it’s not a straight up possession film or one about a haunted house, but a mix up of both…and then some. It’s hard for a horror film to avoid the banal trappings of the genre…

    G-S-T Turns 2!!

Hello World, Marc Here: Today Go,See,Talk celebrates birthday number deux. A lot has changed since I started this and I have to say, last year was certainly better than the first. Can’t say as I imagined G-S-T would be around this long (I figured I’d lose interest or something) but all you friends/fans/regulars really do help keep this site alive. For that you have my thanks! Today we officially enter the terrible two’s of cineblogging and like any kid I still have big dreams and aspirations. Yet if keeping this site has taught me anything, it pays to keep those dreams grounded as nothing happens overnight. And trust me, there’s still…
