Looks like trailer week continues as today we’re treated to the teaser for Tim Burton’s long awaited Frankenweenie. This animated feature, expanded from his short from 1984, is about a boy who brings his dead dog back to life. Similarly styled and stop-motion animated like A Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, this should hit home for those die-hard Burton fans out there. I’m not the biggest Nightmare Before Christmas fan but this does look pretty cute. Have a look…
Originally when Burton created the short film in ’84 Disney fired him for making something that was apparently too scary for family audiences. This feature length film has certainly been a long time coming and thanks to the success of Alice in Wonderland, all the bad blood between Disney and Burton has been forgotten. Plus, Burton himself has come a long way since the 80’s proving his brand of film making is rather welcomed and well-received by most every audience.
Starring Catherine O’Hara, Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Tom Kenny and Martin Landau, Disney has slated Frankenweenie for release in 3D this Fall on October 5th, 2012. What do you think so far? Anyone excited to see the short film become feature-length??
