Sweet Trailer…'Being Flynn'

It’s been a while since Paul Weitz gave us About A Boy (an endlessly charming family-centric film if I do say so myself) and unfortunately as of late his track record has been on par with the once mighty Shamhammer (read: Shyamalan). While no one was expecting anything of merit from Little Fockers, the most recent in a series of underwhelming films from both Weitz and De Niro, the two reunite in the adaptation of offering a story about another of a troubled broken family looking for some semblance of normalcy. Below is the trailer for the Robert De Niro led film Being Flynn. Have a look…

So far, I’m game. The unassuming Paul Dano again looks at ease acting against another titan of the acting world. Here he plays De Niro’s son who, during his twenties, works at various homeless shelters in Boston where he often intersects with his brilliant but troubled and absentee father. Being Flynn is based on author Nick Flynn‘s memoir Another Bullshit Night in Suck City. Hopefully, if the trailer gods aren’t manipulating or misleading us, this looks like we might see a return to form for both Weitz and De Niro and that’s got me excited.

With a suporting cast including Julianne Moore, Lili Taylor, and Olivia Thirlby, Focus Features plans to bring Being Flynn to theaters in the Spring of 2012. No exact date is set but right now but we’ll keep you posted. What do you think? Look good at all to anyone??

I agree with you about Paul Dano- he has that kind of unassuming thing about him and then he’ll knock you off your feet (like he did for me in THERE WILL BE BLOOD)

hey would you mind adding my film site jarwatchesfilm.com to your blogroll and ill do the same?

True, any person who can act opposite Daniel Day Lewis and hold his own has acting chops galore.

Oh and welcome to the Blogroll Jared:P
