Let’s face it. There are just too many movies these days, too many choices. Is that a bad thing? Well not with how well-received many, many film have been. Looking at this year, there’s been more hits than misses, and honestly with so many titles coming down the pike it’s easy to miss more than a few noteworthy efforts. Which brings us to today’s post.
Ridley Scott is making a new movie…about Napoleon…starring Joaquin Phoenix? How did that fall off anyone’s radar?? Well, a trailer means that the movie is not far behind. Please, drop what you’re doing, forget about Wonka, Barbie, Oppenheimer or any other one-word titles, and check out this first look into Scott’s historical epic. Mon Dieu!
The film takes a personal look at Napoleon Bonaparte’s origins, and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor viewed through the prism of his addictive, and often volatile, relationship with his wife and one true love, Josephine.
Directed by Ridley Scott, the film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Vanessa Kirby, Ludivine Sagnier, Ben Miles, and Ian McNeice. Sony Pictures Entertainment will release Napoleon this Thanksgiving.
