I must start by saying that this all is incredibly too soon. But it’s not like anyone in Hollywood is going to listen to some cinebloggers on the net now are they? So we are where we are and despite the allegiance to Raimi’s universe Marc Webb’s crack at Spider-Man does look pretty slick. Still not sold on Garfield in the role…but everything else looks good. Have a look, won’t you?

Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) is at the helm for this reboot and as the “darker” tone has pretty much become a standard for comic adaptions these days we pretty much expected the Batman Begins level of grit and realism. But that first round of candid costume pics that hit the web, the marketing campaign and this trailer pretty much confirmed it. From the high caliber cast including Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field and Denis Leary this has the potential to, while not trying to out do the previous series, serve as a fitting compliment to the Raimi universe. Oh well I guess we’ll see how it develops. Pretty solid for a first trailer but while I’m on board, the bummer is that we’re still nearly away from the final product.
Sony and Columbia Pictures have slated the world’s most beloved wall-crawler to swing into to theaters this time next Summer on July 3rd, 2012

NIce write up – though I must admit that I’m going to hold off on the trailer.
I want to see it in theaters, first.
Keep up the good work guys.
