If the name Christopher Nolan means anything to you then the name Wally Pfister should be just as familiar. Long time collaborator and Nolan’s go-to cinematographer/visual genius is making his directorial debut with this riveting sci-fi thriller for Warner Bros. This second trailer gives a deeper look into the story but from the images and plot details hinted at in the first trailer I’m amazed that the concepts will be able to fit into one film. This looks like it should be a mini-series, or trilogy at the very least. Anyway, enjoy this spell-binding trailer and synopsis below…
A terminally ill scientist downloads his mind into a computer. This grants him power beyond his wildest dreams, and soon he becomes unstoppable.
Pfister has managed to wrangle some vastly impressive names for his first feature as the cast reads like a who’s who of Hollywood A-listers. Aside from some Nolanverse alums like Morgan Freeman and Cillian Murphy, the film stars Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, Kate Mara, Cole Hauser and Paul Bettany. Warner Bros. has slated Transcendence for wide release this Spring on April 18th, 2014.
