Can you believe that this year we’ll get to see Wes Anderson’s 10th film? Better yet, can you imagine a world without Wes Anderson? It’s tough to do even if some people *cough, Honest Trailers, cough* think his movies are all the same. True, he has his style, and that’s what makes him, for close to three decades, one of the finest auteurs working today.
I for one thought there would be nowhere to go after The Grand Budapest Hotel to say nothing of the stunning attention to detail in Isle of Dogs. Yet here we are. So please enjoy this first look at The French Dispatch as well as the poster (below) which makes it look like it’s already in the Criterion Collection.
Written and directed by Wes Anderson, this film stars Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Elisabeth Moss as well as Anderson’s usual suspects including Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Lyna Khoudri, Jeffrey Wright, Mathieu Amalric, Stephen Park, Bill Murray and Owen Wilson. Fox Searchlight Pictures is set to release The French Dispatch on July 24.
THE FRENCH DISPATCH brings to life a collection of stories from the final issue of an American magazine published in a fictional 20th-century French city.
