We’re not a big fan of spoilers, but in the case of this particular film, we’re going to let the cat, err dog out of the bag. Why? Well, because when a story makes you feel this many emotions, you’re gonna want to tell all your friends about it, and shout it from the mountain top. Heart of the Beast is good, really good, and is miles ahead of most films to hit the big screen this year With true, tangible emotion, gripping action sequences and jaw-dropping landscape shots, this is just incredible. Moving stories of isolation, perseverance and friendship rarely get better than this. It’s David Ayer‘s best film since Fury and,…

Interview…Jared Michael Fry Combines Classical Compositions and Indigenous Voices for ‘Heart of the Beast’
A film is far more than the sum of its parts. When images and sound combine, the results echo in eternity. We had the absolute thrill speaking with composer Jared Michael Fry about his score to David Ayer’s Heart of the Beast. This film is their third time working together and the duo hit this one way out of the part. G-S-T Review…Suicide Squad
It’s depressing when you look at a film and think how it could have been done better. In short, Suicide Squad is hyper-styled, over-produced, and yet very underwhelming. But one must realize that what we see on screen doesn’t just happen. These productions have a lot more hands in the pot than you might comprehend, especially considering a studio with clout like Warner Bros. Pictures. Even a competent director like David Ayer probably had his hand forced in a number of situations which recalls that saying that goes, “what is a camel? It’s a horse designed by a committee.”. Looking past the colorfully gritty versions of some of DC’s darkest…

Interview…Oscar-winning Film Composer Steven Price On His Ethereal and Unrelenting Score for ‘Fury’
In the second half of 2013, British film composer Steven Price made quite a name for himself. He scored two very popular films which were both commercial and critical hits. Once the dust of awards season settled, Price found he had walked away with some of the most coveted honors including the Academy Award for “Best Original Score” for Gravity. Alfonso Cuarón’s space fiasco film, (which starred Sandra Bullock and George Clooney) was an amazing cinematic achievement. But it was Price’s ethereal and abstract musical accompaniment that truly helped make Gravity an experience we likely won’t forget any time soon. But Gravity was not the first time this hard working musician…
