    Sweet Trailer…Owen Wilson in ‘Paint’

They say art reflects life, and this new comedy written and directed by Brit McAdams and starring Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers, The Royal Tenenbaums) goes beyond the canvas to portray something beautiful in the lines between parody and sincerity. It look perfect. The film – obviously inspired by Bob Ross but not a biopic by any means – also stars Michaela Watkins (Werewolves Within), Wendi McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids, “The Goldbergs”), Ciara Renee (Hawkgirl from CW’s “Arrowverse”), Lusia Strus (Search Party, 50 First Dates), Stephen Root (HBO’s “Barry”, Office Space), and Lucy Freyer. It looks so good, all we can say is…Wow!!! In PAINT, Owen Wilson portrays Carl Nargle, Vermont’s #1 public television painter who is convinced he has it all: a signature perm, custom van, and…

    G-S-T Review…Ain’t Them Bodies Saints

Writer/director David Lowery’s Ain’t Them Bodies Saints is a simple enough story that speaks volumes. Further, it carries a lot of weight even if nothing particularly dramatic seems to be going on. And that’s the point. It’s part art piece, part love story, and though Lowery’s narrative is understated, it is simply stunning. From the cast, to the story, to the gorgeously simplistic visuals, nothing about this down home picture doesn’t just sing. You may not know the name David Lowery outside the Texas film community, but 2013 has been a big year for both him and his wonderfully crafted throwback film. From Dallas, to Sundance, to Cannes, Saints has made…

    Sweet Trailer…Vincenzo Natali's 'Haunter'

From Little Miss Sunshine to The Call we’ve seen Abigail Breslin competently act opposite A-listers and hold her own. Now she looks to stretch her acting muscles a bit further in the latest from Cube director Vincenzo Natali. Haunter is the story about the ghost of a teenager who died years ago and is now reaching out to the land of the living in order to save someone from suffering her same fate. So while thrillers/horror films can be a bit trite these days it’s good to see a slightly new take and entry in the genre. After all, whether you liked Natali’s Splice or not you have to admit…
