    G-S-T Review…Zero Dark Thirty

Editor’s Note: The following review was originally written back in December by our guest contributing editor, Mark Walters of BigFanBoy.com and is topped off with some final thoughts from our own Grady May. As 2012 drew to a close, there were several films trickling out in the final months which studios hope will be fresh in everyone’s minds come Oscar voting time. One of the more talked-about contenders is director Kathryn Bigelow’s factually based Zero Dark Thirty, about the hunt and eventual discovery of Osama Bin Laden. Bigelow already took home Oscar gold for her work on another military film, The Hurt Locker, and has re-teamed with screenwriter Mark Boal on…

With The Odd Life of Timothy Green, you have a Mary Poppins tale of sorts. You understand it’s a Disney family film and you suspend disbelief, just long enough to allow yourself to get sucked into the movie. You put the Disney name on a film and it’s almost guaranteed to make a profit. But, does Odd Life this compare to the…

    Sweet Teaser Trailer…'Zero Dark Thirty'

A few years ago, director Kathryn Bigelow was the talk of Hollywood with The Hurt Locker. Well, very much in the same vein of that film, word arose some months back that she would be working on an action-oriented story about the final days of Osama Bin Laden. Her film, titled Zero Dark Thirty is based on the true events surrounding the raid on his complex by the Navy SEAL Team 6. This teaser gives us even less info about the famous historical event but is worth a look. So feast your eyes on the cinematic beginning of the end for the al Qaeda leader. Directed by Oscar-winner Kathryn Bigelow (does…

    Sweet Trailer…'The Great Gatsby'

Baz Luhrmann’s latest adaptation of a literary classic comes in the form of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. We all know that Luhrman is comfortable with a big budget/ensemble cast but this looks to put his previous efforts to shame. Grabbing an all-star cast we’ll see Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan and Joel Edgerton offer their talents to this rather splendid looking period piece (which is in 3D for some reason). It didn’t sound too appealing at first but get a load of this trailer… Fans of The Great Gatsby should feel at ease with Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet) at the helm. Not only is he directing…
