    Sweet (Teaser) Trailer…'Epic'

In Blue Sky Studios‘ upcoming film Epic a teenager finds herself transported to a deep forest setting where a battle between the forces of good and evil rages on. She bands together with a rag-tag group characters in order to save their world — and ours. If this sounds sort of like a certain forest based adventure that starts with Fern and ends with gully, lets just put a little faith in Blue Sky that they’ve got something better to offer than a CG remake. Suffer one advert and enjoy this marvelously vibrant first look at Epic. Based on William Joyce’s children’s book known as The Leaf Men, Chris Wedge (Ice…

Sweet Trailer…'Hara-Kiri: Death Of A Samurai'

Takashi Miike isn’t known for pulling his punches and his films aren’t for the faint of heart. In 2010, the man who gave us Ichi The Killer and Audition did a 180 and gave us one of the most surprising remakes in the last few years with his version of 13 Assassins. Well it’s good to see he’s still got the samurai bug and this time he’s giving us his version of Masaki Kobayashi’s 1962 film Harakiri (Criterion Files write up coming soon). Based on the trailer, it looks like we can expect another solid effort…and this time in 3D. Man I sure could have used 3D for that 45 minute…

    Sweet Trailer…'Dredd'

Proving that what’s old is new again comes the reboot of Sly Stallone’s Judge Dredd. Not going to lie, this does look decent and Urban looks the part…but something just doesn’t hit home yet. For now, have a first look at the adaptation of the popular graphic novels featuring Karl Urban as, you guessed it, “judge, jury and executioner“. Enjoy! The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One- a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge,…

Trailer…'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2'

Every saga has its end, and aside from Christopher Nolan’s final Batman film, Twilight’s sunset is imminent (let’s forget about the reboot rumors for now shall we). Likened to Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill and the final Harry Potter film, apparently there was just too much juicy brooding and lip biting in the Breaking Dawn book that it needed to be told in two parts. So here we are with the first full trailer for the second half of the last Twilight film…did I go too fast for anyone? Behold, Edward, Bella and Jacob’s final hurrah. In this film, Bella and Edward’s daughter Renesmee is misidentified as an “immortal child” which leads the Cullens…

    Sweet Trailer…'Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry'

Winner of the Jury Prize from the Sundance Film Festival is this insightful and powerful documentary about China’s most popular and yet controversial artist Ai Weiwei. Making waves at nearly every festival in the circuit (read our own Andrew Crump’s glowing review of it), his story really is one that needs to be heard. The trailer for the “theatrical release” can be found on the Apple website (read: no embed code yet) and it gives you a good idea of Ai Weiwei’s struggles, but to compliment it, we also recommend you can also take a look at the spotlight trailer, with intro and commentary from director Alison Klayman, for the film while it…
