Well here’s a fine way to end the week. What is likely the last comic book trailer we’ll get this year, this 2 minute and 33 second teaser is the equivalent of Bryan Singer dropping the mic on 2015. The X-Men films have gotten better since Matthew Vaughn’s First Class and Singer’s return to Marvel with Days of Future Past. So, rounding out this prequelogy (pretty sure that’s not really a thing, but it sounds neat) is the impressive looking X-Men: Apocalypse. Due out next May, 2016 is going to be a comic book smack down of epic proportions, both on-screen and at the box office. Enjoy this first trailer…

Ho-Hum Trailer…’Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows’
Yes, Dudes and Dudettes, major-league butt-kicking is back in town. The first trailer (and subsequent ones now that we think about it) for 2014’s Turtles didn’t give us the warm fuzzies. Worse than that, the trailers were actually better than the film and the plot. The only redeeming elements were Brian Tyler’s awesome score and that elevator scene. So it’s with a huge grain of salt that we prepare for this second at bat…and that title. Yikes! Good news is that Steve Jablonsky has stepped in for Tyler and we all know what he brings to his films. To a fault, we’re always hopeful, even if said film looks like…

Sweet (Red Band) Trailer…’The Nice Guys’
If you love Shane Black‘s work (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3, et al) then you are going to freak out at the awesomeness of his latest buddy flick The Nice Guys. The film is a throwback romp starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, and holy hell, this looks hilarious! While this isn’t the re-teaming of Robert Downey, Jr. and Val Kilmer that fans have been looking for, this actually seems to be a better looking story. Trailers pushing the 3:00 mark tend to give a lot away, but it’s safe to say that this glimpse into Black’s next endeavor is just the tip of the iceberg…and this particular…

Sweet Trailer…’Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’
Jimmy Kimmel showcases some bad ass trailers, and after wowing us with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Captain America: Winter Soldier and the like, here now is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Maybe he likes films with a hefty colon in the title? Anyway, this second (third if you were at SDCC) look at rock star Zack Snyder‘s Bats v Supes epic throwdown has all the making of greatness…unless you’re the internet and have picked holes in everything from Batfleck, to Doomsday looking rather underwhelming, or Jesse Eisenberg looking like Jerry Lewis just stumbled into the wrong movie. Well, you can’t please all the people all the time. We…

Sweet Trailer…’Captain America: Civil War’
If you were watching Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, then you already witnessed the awesomeness of the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War. It seems that Marvel’s Phase 3 is moving in the right direction and the Russo Brothers are bringing more of the energy and edge from their last outing (The Winter Soldier) with Cap. Also, it’s great to see how full circle the series is becoming with the shared universe. Case in point: William Hurt returning as General ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross! So far, so good Marvel. We’ll look past Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s underwhelming story because we were more than happy with Ant-Man‘s colorful, fun and upbeat entry to…

Sweet (Teaser) Trailer…’Finding Dory’
If you love Pixar, especially their 2003 mega-splash Finding Nemo, then skip everything past this and jump to the trailer below!…For those of you still with us, we’ll resume now…This year we were fortunate enough to get two features from the animation giant (Inside Out –check out our review here– and the upcoming The Good Dinosaur), but the horizon is just teeming with follow-ups to their biggest hits. So, look forward to next June because the Nemo gang is back for an even bigger adventure spearheaded, err, headlined (‘spear’ sounds too violent in regards to fish) by the titular blue doll Dory. This sequel features Andrew Stanton back at the helm…

Sweet Trailer…’The Brothers Grimsby’
Here’s some good news, and bad news to end your week. Good news: Mark Strong is in a new movie! He’s not quite the household name we expected by this point in his career, but he’s still stellar in nearly everything. Now the bad news: he’s likely playing second fiddle to Sacha Baron Cohen. *cue sad trombone* This is the first trailer for Louis Leterrier‘s spy comedy The Brothers Grimsby and hopefully this is more about them as a duo, or else this could be the SBC show – these days, that’s not a good thing. Spoofs are hit and miss as of late, so whether or not it’s been long enough…

Sweet Trailer…’Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens’
OK, by now there is no possible way (or excuse) that you haven’t seen the stellar trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII (man, just typing that gives me chills). But if this is your first time to behold the power and majesty of J.J. Abrams‘ foray into a galaxy far, far away, then please, let me keep you no longer. After all, The Force…it’s calling to you! A continuation of the saga created by George Lucas set thirty years after Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens is directed by J.J. Abrams. The film, and long-awaited return to the Star…

Sweet Trailer…’Truth’
Robert Redford is a legend in the world of cinema, and, similarly, Dan Rather is a legend in media circles. In James Vanderbilt’s Truth, (the adaptation of Mary Mapes’ book “Truth and Duty“), Redford plays the famous CBS anchor in a newsroom drama detailing the 2004 CBS 60 Minutes report investigating then-President George W. Bush’s military service. Enjoy the Yahoo! movies trailer below. TRUTH is an independent feature film based on the book “Truth and Duty” by Mary Mapes. In the vein of “All The President’s Men” and “The Insider”, it is the incredible true story of Mary Mapes (played by Cate Blanchett), an award-winning CBS News Journalist and Dan Rather’s producer,…

Sweet Trailer…’Concussion’
Based on true events, and a GQ article, Will Smith headlines Columbia Pictures’ Concussion. Beyond being a captivating David vs. Goliath story, Peter Landesman’s film also sports an impressive cast. Yet to look at the release calendar, it doesn’t really matter how big a star you have in your film (Will Smith, Sam Jackson, Kurt Russell, etc.), anything opening at the tail end of December is going to face serious competition from J.J. Abrams’ little sci-fi piece about a galaxy far, far away. Anyway, enjoy the first trailer for Concussion. Will Smith stars in Concussion, a dramatic thriller based on the incredible true story of American immigrant Dr. Bennet Omalu, the…
