Fox Searchlight has released the first trailer for the very dramatic film Margaret and it’s a doozy to say the least. Telling the story of a girl who has witnessed a bus accident, she becomes caught up in the aftermath where the question of whether or not it was intentional affects many people’s lives. For only a 2:17 runtime, this trailer is like a sure-shot punch to your emotions. Sporting an impressive cast for an indie film Anna Paquin stars alongside Mark Ruffalo, Matt Damon and many more, you’ll be surprised just who pops ups in this tearjerker. Have a look for yourself…
Well I certainly didn’t see this coming but it’s on my radar now. Written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan (You Can Count on Me), Fox Searchlight has set Margaret for limited release this Fall on September 30th, 2011. While I’m not one who actively seeks out emotionally heavy, or worse depressing films, something about this has my interest considerably peaked. How about you all? Anyone find this at all intriguing??

Looks good and nice to see Mark Ruffalo away from throwaway comedy as he’s a quality actor.

Agree completely Dan! I just attended a screening of it yesterday and unfortunately Ruffalo is in it for exactly 6 of the 149 minutes. Such a shame:(
On another note, I liked it but it was waaaay too long for what it set out to do. Although Paquin’s performance is riveting. Check out our review once the embargo is lifted 10/7:)
