So here we are with another pretty interesting week…In case you missed it (as I did again working pretty hard and also trying to stay on schedule with my 12 Days of Kurosawa) here’s what happened this week:
Duncan Jones’s film Source Code will not be scored by Clint Mansell…why is that news? Well Mansell is very gifted and gives a unique, original and very atmospheric feel to each of his scores. They say that sound makes 50% of the movie…how much of that is music I can’t tell but Mansell is a really big reason the Moon was so captivating, haunting and catchy. [source: Screen Rant]

Here’s the trailer for Bradley Cooper’s upcoming film Limitless. Sure Cooper is hot right now and DeNiro has taken more sour roles than his fans want to admit, but I like the look of this…slick and interesing even if it does look plain. Still it’s just a trailer right? [source First Showing]

Miyazaki fans rejoice!! While Hayao himself isn’t on board to direct Studio Ghibli’s latest (probably yet another) masterpiece, SG has tapped his son Goro to helm Kokuriko-Zaka Kara (check out the website http://www.kokurikozaka.jp/ but be aware it’s in Japanese). In the past, whenever Ghibli has released info about their film’s premise, it usually makes me question the overall product (since each story is really kind of out there in a magical way), but all I have to do is sit back easy and say aloud “It’s Studio Ghibli” and all is well…that said here’s some info on the project. If anyone had questioned whether Robert Pattison has acting chops (or future) outside of the Twilight franchise, then take a look at the latest film Water for Elephants…[source: First Showing]

For all you gamers out there here’s a sweeeet looking teaser for the sequel to Arkham Asylum. Also if rumors turn to be true the heavy (read: villain) in this just may end up being the baddie in the final chapter Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy The Dark Knigt Rises. Not too familiar with Hugo Strange but the concept is interesting and would fit right in the grounded universe Nolan has crated. But still this game trailer makes Batman look cooler and more unstoppable than ever…can’t wait to check it out! [source: YouTube]

When the last trailer for the Simon Pegg and Nick Frost buddy flick Paul dropped, I wasn’t very impressed. Hysterical as they may be, outside of Edgar Wright films the two haven’t fared as well in stateside films. But put a little faith in Greg Mattola (Superbad), be excited to see Sigourney Weaver in another sci-fi comedy and we just may forget that we are soooo tired of Kristin Wiig. Have a look at this new trailer…[source: Yahoo!Movies UK]

Lastly in a bit of a remberance, we say goodbye to Blake Edwards who directed classic films such as The Pink Panther and the beloved Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Here’s a brief look back at a classy director and real cinematic genius. [source: Yahoo! Movies]

Well that wraps up what we think is note worthy. What did you like? Anyone going to see Tron Legacy this weekend…or see it again?:P

Agree totally. Although when I was younger I thought the Skulls looked good from the trailer and was severely let down…hope it doesn’t happen again:P
But I soooo want a PS3 after seeing that Batman trailer…shivers. Too bad the Wii doesn’t have graphics that good:(
