A Life In Movies – Presented By Fandango Groovers

Andy at Fandango Groovers Movie Blog has put together one doozy of a blog event. So simple yet so brilliant. Titled “A Life In Movies” He’s asked us to hi-light one movie for every year since we were born. Easier said than done as so many great films came out in the 80’s it’s hard to lock in just one film per entry. Also some years just had too many good films that were so dear to my heart I’ve included them as Honorable Mentions since I simply couldn’t overlook them. In a way this is similar to the “Films That Defined Us“.

Now most of these movies should speak for themselves which is why I didn’t feel the need to write anything about them…but if the title of the film doesn’t just speak volumes about its magnificence, perhaps you need to see it again to get the impact:)

    Wow I haven’t seen willow but that outfit sure as hell look like the typical Lapp (Scandinavian indian kind of) outfit.

    Love your list…we have some similar movies here. I was planning to do something like this….put putting 33 pictures will take times to do it.

    I really want to see that 13 Assassins.

    Excellent!! Cool list dude. Similar to mine in so many ways. Love seeing Big Trouble in Little China on there, absolute classic

    Great list, Marc! Love lots of your choices and I have to say the way you format the photos is my favorite so far. Glad to see you have Honorable Mentions on some years as well, I’d definitely do the same when my list is finally done. Yes, I’m the tardy one but Andy gave me a pass, he..he..

    Love the inclusion of The Last Samurai!

    Can’t say that I’ve ever even heard of the movies for 91 and 92, let alone seen them.

    Red, you’ve never heard of The Rocketeer? Now, I haven’t seen it, either (a fact that’s become abundantly clear seeing the film on so many of these lists), but it was pretty high profile back in the day (youngster).

    Solid list, Marc. Commercial, but quality commercial (well, save for the Bay shit – 😛 ).

    Some really cool choices on here! I still need to check out Porco Rosso. I know you were bummed about forgetting Lost In Translation, but The Last Samurai is a worthy substitute. Good job!

    Muppets and The Thing. How can I refuse this list? And I’m really happy to see that The Rocketeer got so much love across the span of these lists, it’s criminally ignored and overlooked for reasons I can’t at all fathom.
