William Friedkin. You know his name. If not then, do The French Connection and The Exorcist ring any bells? The legendary filmmaker has a new film coming out (trailer below) and after 45 years in the business, he’s still a force in the business and one who doesn’t pull any punches. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, Go,See,Talk has partnered with ArcLight Cinemas to bring you interviews with the talent/stars of some of 2012′s most buzzed about and anticipated films as well as tributes to some of Hollywood’s greatest icons.
As part of a career retrospective, William Friedkin stopped by the ArcLight for a special showing of The Exorcist and stuck around for an informative Q&A after the screening. Enjoy…
Now have a look at the trailer for his lastest hard-edged film, Killer Joe which stars (Emile Hirsch) as a man who turns to a shady hitman (Matthew McConaughey) to take out on his evil mother in order to collect the insurance…

Would love to have been there for a Q and A with Friedkin but many thanks for posting the vid. The guy is a real enigma – undoubtedly talented and made perhaps the greatest film (horror film) ever made as well as The French Connection among too many duds. Perhaps the allure of Hollywood life in the 60s/70s and the excesses of the 1980s took their toll.

Glad someone else appreciated it Dan:) I just watched it again this morning. What a great guy to want to talk to.
But on your comment, “too many duds”…you said it Dan. The 80s (excesses aside) were a weird time where anything can and did go in cinema. Things back then would never have been made today and I can only image what influenced him and other directors of the time to make the films they did.
