This Summer, Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In) will unleash the Simian uprising better known as Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Actually, as far as the timeline of the time goes, the apes have pretty much won due largely in part to the “Simian Flu” outbreak that has decimated the human population. This sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes begins a decade after the events of the 2011 film and tells how the apes have continued to grow in number and intelligence. The next installment of the Apes franchise puts humanity on the brink of extinction and all-out war to decide who will now rule the planet…but we…

Sweet Trailer…’Palo Alto’
Gia Coppola, granddaughter of legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, has already been making a name for herself with her debut film Palo Alto. The film, based on stories from James Franco’s book of the same name, chronicles the complicated ties and heightened emotions among a group of high school students. This dark drama is centered on a group of teens with a penchant for finding trouble. We’re sold, but have a look at the trailer… Shy, sensitive April (Emma Roberts) is a popular soccer player and frequent babysitter for her single-dad coach, Mr. B. (James Franco). Teddy (played by Jack Kilmer) is an introspective artist whose best friend and sidekick…

Sweet Trailer…’The Drop’
For those of you looking for gritty old-school NYC based crime dramas then look no further. Michaël R. Roskam directs Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini in The Drop and this story (formerly titled Animal Rescue) is centered on a former criminal who tries to go the straight and narrow. However he happens to work at the same bar that funnels funnels cash to local gangsters through “money drops” in the underworld of Brooklyn bars. Enjoy the first trailer below… A crime-drama centered around a former criminal trying to straighten out his life as the bartender, a lost pit bull, a wannabe scam artist, and a killing. As this is officially…

Sweet (Teaser) Trailer…’Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’
After suffering months of speculation, less than comforting set shots (with all actors donning CG tracking outfits), a very questionable casting choice and finally a director who draws more criticism than praise, die-hard Turtle fans finally have our first look at the world of the re-imagined Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Oh, did we mention that this is produced by Michael Bay? Anyway have a look at the fearless foursome of subterranean martial artists known simply as TMNT. Tough to believe they’ve been around for more than 25 years, huh? Enjoy the trailer below… The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan…

Sweet Trailer…’Transformers: Age of Extinction’
Michael Bay can’t get enough of the Transformers universe and regardless of the cohesiveness of the story he just loves those autonomous robots. He also knows how to stage kick-ass action and as such he’s jumped back in the sandbox to play, only this time he brought his big boy toys. No Sam Witwicky, no cute-n-hilarious parents, no annoying and/or racist robots (we can only hope), just a down and dirty Transformers flick that true fans have been waiting for. What Bay shared with the world at the Super Bowl had fans clamoring for more and now here’s the first full trailer which focuses less on giant robots and more…

Sweet Trailer…Gareth Edwards’ ‘Godzilla’
He’s big, he’s bad and he is, without doubt, king of the monsters. And who better to bring this revitalized story of Godzilla to the big screen than Gareth Edwards? Sure he made a huge name for himself with his little film Monsters (a film that, partly because of the budget, focused way more on the human element in the aftermath of montrous devastation than the creatures) but can ge do justice to Toho’s legendary property? Well if you’ve seen the first trailer, and the awesome posters, then the property looks to be in good hands. Sit back and enjoy more epic monsterness…yes we know that’s not a word. Behold…

Sweet Trailer…Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’
Here we are comic folk, the moment we’ve been waiting for. After some sneak peeks and speculation as to what was in store for the Guardians of the Galaxy adaptation we get a stellar trailer for this rag-tag ensemble pic. The best thing this production has going for it is that it has no problem having a laugh at itself, like that sly self-awareness that made The Fifth Element such a classic, and that might just be what makes it all click. Personally speaking if we were going to get a live-action adaptation about space misfits I’d rather see Cowboy Bebop but that’s just me. Still James Gunn is able…

Sweet Trailer…’The Two Faces Of January’
While we haven’t seen much of Viggo Mortensen in a while (sad face) Oscar Isaac on the other hand is everywhere! The two will star along with Kirsten Dunst in this spectacular looking thriller from Drive screenwriter Hossein Amini. It’s a retro styled film just teeming with suspense that’s all wrapped up in an international web of intrigue. Check out the first trailer for The Two Faces of January below… A thriller centered on a con artist, his wife, and a stranger who try to flee a foreign country after one of them is caught up in the murder of a police officer. The film is adapted from a novel…

Sweet Trailer…Wally Pfister’s ‘Transcendence’
If the name Christopher Nolan means anything to you then the name Wally Pfister should be just as familiar. Long time collaborator and Nolan’s go-to cinematographer/visual genius is making his directorial debut with this riveting sci-fi thriller for Warner Bros. This second trailer gives a deeper look into the story but from the images and plot details hinted at in the first trailer I’m amazed that the concepts will be able to fit into one film. This looks like it should be a mini-series, or trilogy at the very least. Anyway, enjoy this spell-binding trailer and synopsis below… A terminally ill scientist downloads his mind into a computer. This grants…

Sweet Trailer…’Maladies’
Well I guess two bits of news about James Franco just aren’t enough this week. Today we have the trailer for another Franco picture (this one coming sooner than Palo Alto and something a little more light-hearted from the sound of it), the off-beat and quirky looking indie Maladies. It looks to be quite a lot of quirky fun but not in that I’m trying too hard to be different hipster vibe. No, this looks like a good time and possibly what James Franco’s life is really like. Anyway, because that told you nothing about the film, enjoy this trailer for Maladies… Maladies is written and directed by Carter (yes, he goes…
