Happy Belated New Year to you all!! After the whirlwind of 2011 we are confidently moving into the 2012 line up. FYI, for a good batch of what to look forward to this year, have a gander at our own Andrew Crump’s well crafted 15 films he’s excited to see in 2012. One of the more high profile items on that list and the G-S-T “Must See” list is Rian Johnson’s mysterious and enigmatic time-travel romp Looper. Until now very little has been released, or should I say aside from his Tumbler blog, very little that give us any idea what it will be about has been released. Now we have a look at the time machine…enjoy!

The way I see it, if you’re going to build a time machine into a WWII era oceanic mine, why not make it steam-punkish and ominous looking. Right? Well, it’s certainly got my attention, I’ll say that much. Previously all we’d seen was a shot of Bruce Willis firing a gun and truthfully he fires a gun in almost every movie so we couldn’t be totally certain it’s from Looper…but it is and so is this. I love Brick and The Brothers Bloom (despite some story problems) and think Rian Johnson could have another hit (or first time block buster) on his hands with this.
I’m very very eager to see/hear more about Looper but after all this time I wouldn’t mind going in completely blind. How about you? Anyone a fan of Brick or The Brother’s Bloom? Anyone excited about Looper??
