Sweet (and Spooky) Trailer…'The Cabin in the Woods'
Calling all you Whedon fans, have we got something for you. In 2009 Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard developed and completed an ambitious horror flick called The Cabin in the Woods. Playing up the stereotypical elements in a film about ill-fated teenagers, Whedon/Goddard set out to turn what has become a trite story (and, to an extent, genre) on its head. Unfortunately this film has been kept on a shelf all this time but it is now getting its long awaited debut. Check out this sweet trailer…if you dare! It’s rare that trailers give me chills but from the looks of it Whedon/Goddard have something special here. Sure it starts out mundane and banal…

Sweet Trailer…'Escape From M.S. One' (aka 'Lockout') UPDATED
From Europa Corp and Film District comes the Luc Besson written sci-fi film Escape from MS One (previously known as Lockout); his first other worldly adventure since The Fifth Element. In it, Guy Pearce stars as a wrongly convicted man who is offered freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison overrun by the inmates. Quality of the video not withstanding it looks like another high-energy flick that few but Besson can deliver…and in space no less. This is the international trailer which explains the subtitles but it also has some profanity so be advised. Anyway for those of you pining for another Corbin Dallas adventure, sorry this…

Roundtable Interview Discussion with ‘Shame’ Director Steve McQueen & Actor Michael Fassbender
On November 17th, writer/director Steve McQueen and actor Michael Fassbender stopped in Dallas as part of a whirlwind PA tour to promote their new movie Shame. McQueen and Fassbender held this very private round table discussion to talk about their brilliant and controversial film. Having worked together on the powerful fact-based film Hunger the two have undeniable chemistry and are talented entertainers of the highest merit. After being simply floored by Shame at the screening a few weeks before Thanksgiving I could not stop thinking about the film and as such had a boat load of questions for the them. Go,See,Talk and some select local media outlets sat in on (and directly across from I…

G-S-T Review…Shame
Addictions come in all shapes and sizes. Most of the time an addiction is based on a series of lies but nearly all of the time it involves us telling lies to ourselves. Shame is a candid story that gets to the core of a man in crisis and inevitable deconstruction due to his unflinching and unsavory lifestyle. Similar to what Darren Aronofsky did with Requiem For A Dream, writer/director Steve McQueen (Hunger) gives us a slow-paced downward spiral of self-destruction that is painful to watch yet you simply cannot turn away.

Sweet Trailer…'John Carter of Mars'
Wow, now this is just looking sooo much better. A few months back Disney released one major league teaser for Andrew Stanton’s film adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ John Carter. Seeming to have a Cowboys & Aliens meets Avatar vibe some may have been put off by the strange alchemy of stories/genres but this second trailer should get a good number of naysayers on the JCM bandwagon. Earlier today Good Morning America gave us a sneak peek (thanks to First Showing for the heads up) but now we have the official second trailer in its entirety and it doesn’t disappoint one bit. Have a look and enjoy!! Pixar superstar Andrew Stanton…

Sweet (and Short) Red Band Trailer…'Young Adult'
In October, the full trailer for the new Jason Reitman film Young Adult hit the web. It was quirky, funny and most of all it reminded us that petty high schoolers grow old but they don’t always grow up. Today we get a small taste of what is really in store for us as we see the beautiful Charlize Theron channeling Diablo Cody’s not so beautiful writing. For those faint of heart, have look at the green band trailer. For those of you who need a short but bitter mid-Tuesday wake up shot, look no further… Charlize plays Mavis Gary the foul-mouthed divorcee returning to her old life in small-town suburbia and…

G-S-T Review…The Muppets
The Muppets is a long awaited a reunion concert experience that showcases our old friends doing what they do best: singing, dancing, joking and playing music. What is pretty clever is that not only is this a meta story asking and answering the question “where have the Muppets been?“, it reflects the social mindset that wondered the same thing as if the Muppets were living breathing creatures. But even without the involvement of Frank Oz this still feels like a true Muppet movie with all the charm and allure that has kept the property vibrant for decades. The Muppets are a brand everyone knows and as such we were allowed to jump fuzzy…

G-S-T Review…Arthur Christmas
Christmas gets here earlier and earlier each year to the point that it’s finding a foothold on the calendar just days after Halloween and causes little children to ask “mommy, did we skip a holiday?“. This time however you won’t mind Christmas jumping the gun. Sony Pictures Animation and Aardman bring us a funny holiday film that is beyond delightful and simply gorgeous. I hate to throw myself into a review, but this time I just cannot resist; I whole heartily loved this movie!! It’s the kind of film that hits on all cylinders, appeals to all age groups and demographics and is a story that is not just fun but one worth…
