Sweet Trailer…'Green Lantern'

Super hero season is nearly upon us and while the (mostly) Earth THOR comes out this weekend, next month DC’s Green Lantern looks to take us beyond the stars in this epic looking comic film. Here we have the final and full-on theatrical trailer for the Green Lantern and boy, does it look special. Grand in pretty much every aspect it looks like its got a lot to prove and that’s one good thing about comic films lately; the fact they’re all trying to out do each other. In theory all these evolving comic adaptations should yield a better end product that makes fans and studios very happy.

Whether on not that comes to pass remains to be seen but with Martin Campbell at the helm, I have little to worry about. So while I just hate to spoil any movie I am really eager to see (even briefly with a trailer this good looking), this one just screams WATCH ME! Enjoy!!

Martin Campbell (GoldenEye, Casino Royale) is directing this adaptation of DC’s beloved Green Lantern from a script by Greg Berlanti, Michael Goldenberg, Michael Green & Marc Guggenheim. Warner Bros. has slated Green Lantern to kick off the Summer season with its release on June 17th, 2011. But closing thought: should I be concerned Ryan’s eyes look reminiscent of the wilderness scene in Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure?

So what say you? Are you ready to take to oath and join the corp. with Hal this June? Looking forward to Mark Strong playing another heavy for the history books? Does this look like a must see??

Hmmm…still on the fence. I have zero anticipation for Thor, so my money might go to this instead.

I’m still reserving some expectations and not getting super hyped. Also I’m concerned with the suit looking like it’s on loan from Body Works.

But I’ve heard great things about THOR so while I understand how you feel about it, I’m eager to see if they can pull an Iron Man with it.

Couldn’t tell you, but your indifference makes me realize the maybe I’m hyping it up. This may turn out to be a crapfest like the Fantastic Four…but for now I’m excited for reasons I can’t explain.

Like Thor, I know nothing of Green Lantern as well. And the trailer hasn’t really gotten my attention. There just seem too much CGI stuff that the movie could possibly be cartoony. I do like Ryan Reynolds so I’d likely see this still…on a dvd rental.

Yes the CG may be a tad off putting as it looks like one giant cartoon CG mess. But I’m hoping for the best simply because of Reynolds, Strong and Campbell.
