Sweet Trailer…’Robin Hood’

Well the day has come dear friends…the final trailer for Sir Ridley Scott’s upcoming Robin Hood. The trailer just before Christmas was good, the Super Bowl spots (although short) were better but now we have the best trailer yet…well, one would hope because it is the last before it hits theaters on May 14, 2010.

Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott team up again for what can only be described as “pure awesomeness”. In this version of the classic and legendary tale, Robin’s life is depicted from his early days in King Richard’s army. It further tells continues his story as he returns to Nottingham and creates the band of mercenaries who challenge the sheriff and eventually try to prevent civil war.

Maybe I’m all alone in this but I still like the idea of Crowe being the Sheriff and Robin, but I bet it was changed for the better. Based on this trailer, my gut tells me that this isn’t the Gladiator redux that some have claimed it would be. Personally this feels more like Kingdom of Heaven so that’s got my attention. Either way this looks like another winning epic at the hands of Scott. Plus the awesome supporting cast…this movie has WIN all over it!!

All in all May can’t get here soon enough. Kick-Ass in April, Robin Hood in May then The Expendable in August?? 2010 is the year the heaven will shake, the Gods will roar and an Iron Man will soar…make that 2 Iron Men:P

So let’s just say that this trailer has made my day. What do the rest of you think? Looking good yet??

I’m in the same boat as Hatter, the trailer in front of Green Zone kicked ass. Sounded like a stupid idea in concept, but looks pretty badass at the moment. Definitely looking forward to it.

I know, right? Badass is definitely the word I’d use, and the more I hear/see about this, the more I love it. I can’t wait!!

I’m with you Marc, I thought the teaser trailer wasn’t as good as this one (which is ironic as it’s supposed to tease/tantalize us for the full one!). But this one is pure awesomeness indeed! The original idea of Crowe playing dual roles really appealed to me as well, and we know he can pull it off. But writing the script for it might be very tricky, hence they go back to a more traditional approach. But yeah, the supporting cast of Blanchett, Mark Strong, Danny Houston, Max Von Sydow, etc. We’re surely going to be entertained!

Call me one for drinking the ‘kool aid’ with origin stories, but I like the fact that this looks into Robin’s past and tells of his progression rather than just showing us Robin all super bad. You’d get dangerously close to Gladiator if it was that way, I think anyway.
