    Sweet 2nd Trailer…'The Avengers'

The Super Bowl TV spot gave us a really good look at Joss Whedon’s Avengers adaptation and now we have a much grander glimpse at this epic action film. Have to say it’s looking better and better and May 4th is just about 2 months away. Avengers Assemble!! Joss Whedon’s film adaptation of the Marvel comic series features Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. Oh, and in case you missed it yesterday an official poster was released. Have a look at the team (more or less) in action. Click on it to see the hi-res version… The Avengers is set to slam into…

    Sweet (2nd) Trailer…'The Amazing Spider-Man'

The term “jaw-dropping” gets thrown around a lot when talking about films. But how many trailers do you recall that you think deserved to be called the same? Today we have the second full trailer for Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man and I think it is totally jaw-dropping!! Many, many people were curious to see how anyone would top the Raimi films (putting aside the fact that this series reboot was started so insultingly soon after Spider-Man 3) but this trailer should find all naysayers, myself included, picking their chins off the floor. Enjoy!! Andrew Garfield stars as Peter Parker along with Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy (fun fact: she’s the second red-head to…

Sweet Trailer…'The Avengers' Super Bowl TV Spot

The Avengers has been a long time coming with 6, count em, 6 films (4 origin stories, 1 sequel and 1 reboot) leading up to Joss Whedon’s highly  anticipated ensemble action flick. Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Iron Man and Hulk are all that stands between Loki and the certain annihilation of Earth. Sure he’s got an army but we have…well, you’ll see! Have a look at the full Super Bowl TV Spot for The Avengers… Admittedly this is little more than what we’ve seen in the teaser. I mean we still don’t even know who The Avengers are fighting. But is that a problem? If you ask me, I say not one bit. Sure is…

Ohhh, Look…Insane Behind the Scenes Reel for ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance’

In the comic book world, adaptations can swing wildly from perfection to utter tragedy with a handful of films finding home in the middle ground. In the past I’ve gone on about which comic films have been good, bad and break evens but filmmakers are finding their groove these days and most of those films are putting their properties in the win columns. One to root for an underdog, when a product is ill-received in the first go round I am always up for a redeeming sequel. But when a film is so bad even those responsible wish they could unsee it, a prequel, sequel or reboot, even in this day and age,…

    Sweet (Teaser) Trailer…'The Avengers'

Oh boy comic fans, today is a very special day. The teaser for Joss Whedon’s The Avengers just hit the web and it’s got fan boys (and girls) excited for what is probably the largest superhero movie ever created. Assembling the members one by one in semi-interweaving origin stories Marvel (and now Disney) has taken one helluva chance on the success of this ensemble film. I have a feeling that it’ll be awesome but you probably don’t need me to tell you that right? So until we get a full trailer, another and the endless TV spots, have a look at what Whedon will be bringing us next May. Man, I know…

    Ohhh, Look…Gorgeous "Avengers Assemble" Posters

Captain America took home the box office gold this weekend (to the tune of $65.8M) and tons of positive reviews. As Steve Rogers is the final Avenger to get his big screen debut (in the Joss Whedonverse that is, we’re going to forget about that other early 90’s Cap flick) we finally have all the pieces in place for next year’s Avengers film. While the idea of a full scale Avengers film was a huge endeavor/risk, Marvel certainly did it right establishing the characters on their own as opposed to a convoluted introduction which would bog down their big budget film from the get go. The road leading up to…

    G-S-T Review…THOR

The third Marvel character from the Avenger’s line up (and first tent-pole comic film of 2011) comes at us with a pretty solid adventure about the Asgardian Odinson. The most otherworldly member of the upcoming The Avengers film was quite a delight after the rather underplayed trailers and mixed reviews. Sometimes, depending on the material, an awe inspiring character in the comics can look just downright laughable on screen regardless of whether or not there’s a credible story to back it up. But Kenneth Branagh‘s Thor takes what would just be a hokey series of costumes and set pieces and give us a somewhat weighty story powered fine acting. It yields a believable presence on par with something as visually…

    Ohhh, Look…Neat Minimalist SuperHero/Villain Posters

Slow day here G-S-T fans, I won’t try to hide it. But to help speed us along, I do have something you may sort of enjoy. I found these cool looking Minimalist Superhero posters that are so simple I wish I’d thought of it. Anyway I got them from one of our favorite sites Geekologie (which is a sister site of I Watch Stuff). Neat thing is that these posters not only feature famous comic Super Heroes, but also the Villains. Have a look and see how many you can name. FYI, if you’re coming up short, I put the answers below…but only for the Heroes. What? You want me to…
