Ohhh, Look…Astonishing 110 Year Old Color Film Prints Discovered and Preserved
Since our interview with Chris Kenneally (writer/director of the doc Side by Side) the other day I’ve been thinking a lot about the idea film preservation. Well along comes this neat video showing newly discovered film from 1902 that is the very first film to be printed in color. It’s quite amazing to see something that we’re so used to seeing in black and white now shown in color, and all through a pretty simple and seminal process. In 1899, Edward Raymond Turner’s ingenious and patented process “shot three successive frames through red, green, and blue filters, and then projected them on top of each other to create a full-color image”. In the very touching video below, created by Nick Bosworth of JoBlo compiles this rather heartfelt tribute to Scott. So put on your aviators (to hide the tears) and enjoy this reverent trip down memory lane… “His death affected me deeply as I consider myself to be partly…

Ohhh, Look…'Bat Man of Shanghai' from Cartoon Network
Lots of our favorite comic/super heroes have evolved since their first issue or appearance and usually it’s the bold and creative changes that make the most impact. Case in point; Batman has had more face-lifts than Joan Rivers but each time his reinvention or re-envisioning is something special. The video below is no exception. Sure we’ve seen Batman in the future (Batman Beyond) Batman in the past (Gotham By Gaslight), and now we have a new anime version that is as exaggerated as it is outstanding. No words, just watch… 100% dope right? This is part of DC Nation only on Cartoon Network and I soooo want to see more. Currently there is supposed to be a new…
