    Sweet Trailer…'Gravity'

How do you sum up seven years of anticipation in succinct, clean prose? Alfonso Cuarón hasn’t had a film in theaters in nearly a decade, but he’s been hard at work on his latest, Gravity, for nearly that entire span of time; couple the movie’s long gestation period with an observation on the quality of his preceding work, Children of Men, and Gravity immediately becomes the sort of project any dyed-in-the-wool cinephile worth their salt will accord their attention and their unabashed excitement (both of which are sure to be intensified in light of the wildly positive early reviews out of VIFF). So, with that in mind, here’s the full…

    G-S-T Review…The Heat

If you weren’t familiar with Freaks and Geeks or just don’t watch a lot of TV shows, then the name Paul Feig probably didn’t mean anything to you until 2011. That’s when a little film called Bridesmaids took the film world by storm and made a star of a certain Melissa McCarthy in one fell swoop. In his latest film Feig continues to impress and tickle many a funny bone because, in short, The Heat is white-hot with humor, wit and style. It’s also one of the best times you’ll have in the cinema this year…and what a way to officially kick off Summer. Where as Bridesmaids was written by women…

Cuarón to Strand Bullock, Clooney in Space This October

Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity, one of G-S-T’s most anticipated releases of the year, has been a long time coming after delays kept it from seeing release in the fall of 2012. I’ll admit that I held some fears about its chances of seeing the light of day this year in reserve– who holds onto a movie driven by two major Academy darlings for this long?– but those fears have been put to rest: the film now has officially been given an October 4th release date. We know precious few details about Gravity beyond Cuarón’s position at the steering wheel, Clooney’s and Bullock’s starring roles, and what the synopsis tells us, but I…

Dan Stephens is the managing editor and founder of  Top10Films.co.uk. Not one to muck about with editorials and irreverent news articles, Dan and his fellow contributors hammer out awesome and definitive Top 10 lists. So have a look at his latest concoction and we implore you to check out some of this other stuff. I was asked recently by a friend to name my top 10 favorite actresses. I couldn’t answer. Sweet Trailer…'Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close'

A decade after the events of September 11th I’m not sure anyone is close to being done greiving…but enough time has passed that should have let a larger number of people come to terms with it. Not long after I left yesterday’s screener of Margaret (review coming on 10/7) I found this on our buddy Castor’s page Anamolous Material. After coming out of such a heavy and lengthy film, which in a way dealt with the aftermath of 9/11 as well, I think I needed this quasi-pick-me up. Behold, the first trailer for the film adaptation of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close… From the point of view of 9-year-old Oskar (amateur inventor,…
