    Sweet Trailer…'Green Lantern'

Super hero season is nearly upon us and while the (mostly) Earth THOR comes out this weekend, next month DC’s Green Lantern looks to take us beyond the stars in this epic looking comic film. Here we have the final and full-on theatrical trailer for the Green Lantern and boy, does it look special. Grand in pretty much every aspect it looks like its got a lot to prove and that’s one good thing about comic films lately; the fact they’re all trying to out do each other. In theory all these evolving comic adaptations should yield a better end product that makes fans and studios very happy. Whether on…

Sweet (Redband) Trailer…'30 Minutes Or Less'

OK everyone, last trailer this week, promise. From Ruben Fleischer, the director of Zombieland, comes his new comedy 30 Minutes or Less. Once again we follow Jesse Eisenberg through some more inescapable socially awkward situations and hijinx. This time though, Mr Fleicher is having Jesse trade Zombies and twinkies for a bomb and a bank robbery…trust me, it’ll make more sense when you watch it. Have a look! So remember what I said yesterday about Redband trailers hyping a movie that probably won’t be very good? Well today I take a slightly recanted stance. 30 Minutes or Less looks pretty damn funny and I’m eager to see more, especially if…

    Sweet Trailer…'Troll Hunter'

Now here’s an interesting take on the mockumentary sub genre. The Troll Hunter tells the story of a group of students investigating mysterious bear killings. They quickly learn there are much more dangerous things going on. As they start to follow a mysterious man, they soon learn he is actually an expert troll hunter. There have been some trailers released previously and this does give away more than it probably should but it’s still an exciting watch. The Troll Hunter, was written and directed Norwegian filmmaker André Øvredal and those who saw it premiered at Fantastic Fest last year have been raving about it. Magnet Releasing (known for tons of solid and edgy films…

    Sweet Trailer…’Point Blank’

Well this came out of the middle of nowhere but I have to say it’s just the thing to remedy this cloudy Dallas day. A French thriller in the vein of Luc Besson (I guess they usually go hand in hand don’t they?:P) Point Blank is about Samuel (a male nurse) who saves the life of a man (a thief) at his hospital. But soon the thief’s henchmen take Samuel’s pregnant wife hostage to force him to spring their boss from the hospital. The trailer is much more interesting than this premise so have a look… While this does look a bit reminiscent of Taken (or a number of quasi-kidnapping…

    Sweet Trailer…'The Help'

Yes I think that using “sweet” is the perfect superlative to describe anything with Emma Stone. If you’re in the mood form something charming, uplifting and heartfelt, Dreamworks’ newest film, The Help looks to have you covered. Just the right change of pace for all the comic films coming down the pike this Summer. Enjoy! Set in Mississippi during the 1960s, Skeeter (Stone) is a southern society girl who returns from college determined to become a writer, but turns her friends’ lives — and a small Mississippi town — upside down when she decides to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families.…

    Sweet Trailer…’Stake Land’

In the success of most post-apocalyptic films like Mad Max, The Road, The Book of Eli and AMC’s The Walking Dead, Stake Land (no, not Skateland) looks to fit in nicely with its own bleak outlook on the future..this time with Vampires. Not as stylized as Day Breakers per se (and hopefully much better too), but for those of you tired of the overly glamorized Vampire films, this paints a gritty picture that I find oddly captivating. Have a look… A vampire epidemic has swept across what is left of the nation’s abandoned towns and cities, and it’s up to Mister, a death dealing, rogue vampire hunter, to get Martin safely north to…

Sweet Teaser…'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'

If Tim Burton’s take on Planet of the Apes, didn’t do anything for you, then maybe this prequel (of sorts) from Rupert Wyatt may do the trick. Starring James Franco, Brian Cox, Andy Serkis this origin story set in present day San Francisco, tells the tale of man’s experiments with genetic engineering leads to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. Worth a look if you like the series or are a big fan of convincing mo-cap… I hope that this (like Ridley Scott’s Prometheus looks to do) will serve to compliment the first film, Planet of the Apes with a fitting bookend.…

    Sweet (International) Trailer…'X-Men: First Class'

Hello World, Marc Here: I don’t know about you but X-Men: First Class just looks better and better with everything that gets released. Maybe it was the red herring in the form of the lousy looking cast photo (which was really more of a concept than anything else) that made people doubt it initially. Good thing because usually when you write something off early, it’s very likely to get better with time. Case in point. The initial First Class teaser looked really good, really really surprising and now we have an even sweeter looking “International” trailer (rough quality not withstanding). Have a look for yourselves… It seems things could be…
