    While You Were Out…12/6 – 12/10

Hello World, Marc Here: I’ve been pretty busy with work and holiday planning, so I have decided to add a new section to Go, See,Talk called “While You Were Out“. In short, it’ll be a round up of sorts, allowing anyone (e.g. Me) who took their finger of the the pulse of the film world to play catch up… So from time to time if I don’t post as often during a week it’s probably because I have a lot on my plate. But don’t worry because I’ll be writing one of these to capture all the best parts of the week in one concise post and much like the…

    Sweet Trailer…’The Beaver’

Mel Gibson isn’t the most loved celebrity right now and while he has more bad press and paparazzi problems than Lindsey Lohan, at least he can act himself out of a paper bag. So while he’s got some personal problems and they’re not really helping his public image, there is one golden rule in the entertainment world that applies no matter what: “Make one great film and the public will forgets all wrongdoing“…just look at Robert Downey Jr. That said, enter The Beaver, Mel’s latest fare from director and actor Jodie Foster. If you’ve seen posters or set photos in the past, you’ve probably been confused as to what it’s all about. Well dear friends, allow me…

    Sweet (Teaser) Trailer…'Cars 2'

Vrroom, vroom!! It looks like we’re getting a truckload of Pixar magic this week and the latest offering form everyone’s favorite stateside animation house comes in the form of animated cars. Yesterday we had a post featuring a gorgeous screen shot and a teaser poster which was awesome enough. Today we get an oh so sweet teaser trailer and it really makes me smile (FYI, the trailer released about a month ago that was more like an “announcement” trailer). So enough stalling, let’s hit the gas shall we? In this sequel to 2006’s Cars, we follow Lightning McQueen and his best friend Mater as they set out on an international adventure…

    Sweet (Official) Trailer…'The Mechanic'

Earlier this year we posted the promotional looking trailer for the remake of Charles Bronson’s The Mechanic. It was interesting but still rough. Since then a lot has changed (possibly some story by the looks of it) and this final product has a very refined feel to it. Starring Jason Statham and the increasingly awesome Ben Foster, The Mechanic looks to be the first solid actioner kicking off 2011. So as it is almost upon us (and pushed back from its original December 15th release date), we now have a much slicker looking trailer from our buds at First Showing to get us in the mood. Have a look for yourselves……

    Sweet Trailer…'Battle: Los Angeles'

Well this is shaping up to be a trailer packed week but can you blame me, there’s just been a good number to go around. This one however doesn’t need a set up so I’ll get right to it. Here we are with a fantastic trailer courtesy of our great friends at First Showing. Basically its District 9 meets Blackhawk Down (or what would have happened if the aliens from ID4 actually landed) and that equals AWESOME!! The word epic gets thrown around waaay to much thanks in large part to the over-dependence of CG, but I’ll spare you my opinion save to ask you this. After what you just saw, can…

    Sweet Trailer…'Hall Pass'

Here we have the trailer Owen Wilson’s latest film Hall Pass. While I do like the guy I think his novelty has worn off. Personally speaking he’s just not making anything of value anymore; merely collecting paychecks with his quirky humor. But in this economy, a job is a job and we should all be so lucky right? However this is a Farrelly Brothers film and looks like his brand of humor could be a good fit for their style of writing. While their films have been more and more disappointing, this one may just work. Anyway have a look and let me know what you think… Owen Wilson and SNL’s…

    Sweet Trailer…'London Boulevard'

OK now here’s a trailer to get you excited…well maybe not excited but interested. Colin Farrell, alongside Keira Knightley and Ray Winstone, stars in the new crime thriller London Boulevard. As you’ll see below, the trailer isn’t exactly straightforward so let me refer you to the synopsis from IMDb: “London Boulevard” is the story of a man newly released from prison who falls in love with a reclusive young movie star and finds himself in a duel with a vicious gangster. Hmm, maybe the trailer is more expository. Have a look and let me know what you think… Maybe it’s just me but I’m reminded of Layer Cake which I think…

    Sweet Trailer…’Burke & Hare’

Today’s trailer comes as a bit of a surprise to me. A new film from John Landis you say?? OK, go on…Well John Landis (Animal House) is directing Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, all things awesome) and Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, King Kong) in the nearly true story of two 19th century grave robbers Burke and Hare. The film follows the leads as they find a lucrative business providing cadavers for an Edinburgh medical school. We heard about this last year but it’s been pretty quiet since then. I’m actually getting a good feeling from this and I am eager to see how Pegg and Serkis play off each other. So…

    Sweet Trailer…'Skyline'

Last month a very intriguing and awesome looking teaser for Universal’s Skyline hit the web. Immediately I was hooked. Part Independence Day, part Transformers, part Cloverfield and just 200% slick looking, I was sooo looking forward to this. Now we get the official second trailer. While I will admit it is nearly as stunning the first one, the trailer is slightly less impacting. But that’s just what I think. Have a look for yourself below… From IMDb we get the following synopsis: Strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off…

    Sweet Trailer…'The Fighter'

Was going through the hot sheets (read: Sites We Like) and came across this trailer. Frankly I had forgotten about it but now I’m glad that it’s back on my radar. The bizarre teaming of Christian Bale (in another shocking change in his physical appearance) and Mark Wahlberg (of all people right?) seem to have an intersting chemistry for their upcoming film The Fighter. We had written about this last year and I’m actually quite eager to see this. Have a look at the trailer and let me know what you think… The latest effort from David O. Russell (Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees) tells the true tale of Mickey Ward…
