Sweet (International) Trailer…’Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’

This Summer, Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In) will unleash the Simian uprising better known as Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Actually, as far as the timeline of the time goes, the apes have pretty much won due largely in part to the “Simian Flu” outbreak that has decimated the human population. This sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes begins a decade after the events of the 2011 film and tells how the apes have continued to grow in number and intelligence. The next installment of the Apes franchise puts humanity on the brink of extinction and all-out war to decide who will now rule the planet…but we…

    G-S-T Review…The Adventures of Tintin

Editor’s Note: Go,See,Talk presents this review of The Adventures of Tintin as the debut entry from our guest contributing writer Andrew Crump (of A Constant Visual Feast). He’s going to be making some more appearances on G-S-T in the next few weeks so have a look at what he had to say about Steven Spielberg’s latest blockbuster and offer your thoughts below. While watching The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, you can feel Spielberg grinning happily on the other side of the camera. It’s a welcome quality; adapting Hergé’s beloved comic books to screen in the first of a planned series of films with collaborator Peter Jackson seems to have brought out the…

G-S-T Review…Rise of the Planet of the Apes

With a well established legacy of over 40 years in place, going the “prequel” route as the next entry to the Planet of the Apes franchise is not only ballsy but nearly impossible to keep from becoming, at best, an unflattering installment. Rise of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Rupert Wyatt who (with only one other feature length film to his name) certainly had a tough road to hoe considering this film would lead up to 1968’s iconic film. But with such a well crafted story that does service to the series, it’s safe to say he’s beaten the odds. Rise is a fine film, very fine in fact and better still,…

    Sweet Trailer…’Burke & Hare’

Today’s trailer comes as a bit of a surprise to me. A new film from John Landis you say?? OK, go on…Well John Landis (Animal House) is directing Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, all things awesome) and Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, King Kong) in the nearly true story of two 19th century grave robbers Burke and Hare. The film follows the leads as they find a lucrative business providing cadavers for an Edinburgh medical school. We heard about this last year but it’s been pretty quiet since then. I’m actually getting a good feeling from this and I am eager to see how Pegg and Serkis play off each other. So…
