Seems more and more movies are releasing a “sneak peek” like this to pique interests. That’s fine with me and in a way I prefer over a cherry picked or misleading trailer. So for those eager to see Pixar’s first epic/period piece film Brave, feast your eyes on the first two and a half minutes… Kelly Macdonald stars as Merida and leads an impressive cast inlcuding Billy Connolly (The Boondock Saints), Emma Thompson (Love Actually), Robbie Coltrane (the Harry Potter series) and Kevin McKidd (Grey’s Anatomy). Disney has slated Brave for release this Summer on June 22nd, 2012. And in case you missed it yesterday, here is the second, might I add very vibrant, theatrical poster for Brave. I can’t wait!! I…

To Know Or Not To Know? – The Great Spoiler Conundrum
SPOILERS!! We all hate them. Honestly, who enjoys someone else ruining the fun to be had by telling us what we’re in store for before the time? Sure we put up with a certain amount of it in trailers, hell even posters sometimes ruin a film (I’m looking at you Quarantine!). But I’m not talking about spoiling a film’s twist or ending or both. No, I’m referring to our, at times, insatiable searches from film info and am simply wondering when is enough enough? Moreover, when/how can we spare ourselves the disappointment of knowing something about a film or a character before the lights go down in the cinema or…

Update On Guillermo del Toro Creature Based Sci-Fi Flick 'Pacific Rim'
Since 2006 Guillermo del Toro has had over a dozen projects in some form of development to his credit (with him either as a writer, director, creative consultant, etc.). His upcoming sci-fi film is the first project that he’s both written and directed since Hellboy II: The Golden Army. So what can we expect from GDT this time around? If you weren’t already aware, submitted for your approval is one Pacific Rim; a film about inter-dimensional/extra-terrestrial creatures attacking Earth. But before you finish your yawn, know that Earth has a fighting chance this time as our saviors of the terra-firma come in the form of 25-foot-tall mechs whose controls are tied into…

Jim Caviezel Joins Sly and Schwarzenegger In 'The Tomb'
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are 80s icons and legendary action heroes. Everyone knows that. They battled the box-office back in the day but have recently taken to teaming up in multiplexes. They shared some geek-gasm worthy screen time in The Expendables and will be running and gunning together in its sequel. But information on the upcoming thriller The Tomb will have them teaming together, possibly, against the prison warden (played by Jim Caviezel) as well as many irate inmates. Taking the reigns for this will be Mikael Hafstrom (1408, The Rite). The Film Stage has info on the project including a great audio clip from Mark Canton who produced 300 and this year’s…

Here we are again; week 3 of What’s New on Blu? We just celebrated our 3-Year Anniversary on Friday (02/17/2012). What a great time to love movies. We dug through the stacks of discs and emerged with what we feel are the best of what is being released on Blu-ray this week. Check it out…

G-S-T Review…The Secret World of Arrietty
The latest animated feature from the world-renowned Studio Ghibli not only calls on the elements of the great Ghibli films from the past 20 years but more importantly reminds us why we go see their films in the first place. Ghibli pictures are escapism and great storytelling in their most pure and exemplary forms. Moreover, in this adaptation of Mary Norton’s novel The Borrowers, it shows us that we don’t have to go very far from our own bedroom to find an imaginative and rousing tale. Sure there is a small touch of special Ghibli magic and otherworldly themes to The Secret World of Arrietty but it’s easy to believe in a…

G-S-T Review…This Means War
The romantic comedy genre usually has one thing down pat: the comedy. Even if you simply roll your eyes at the romance of it, they are usually genuinely funny. Unless they are This Means War, one of the weakest efforts from the romantic comedy genre I have seen in the past few years. That’s a shame because some of the trailers hint at something that takes a different and fresh approach. For instance, what if two buddy spies fell for the same girl, and used all of the tools available to them to take advantage of the situation? That should be an interesting premise. Turns out what is written on…

Happy 3rd Anniversary to Go,See,Talk…New Year, New Look and New Faces
On this very date 3 years ago I plunked down in front of the computer to start the movie themed web blog you’re reading now. Well it was actually Rob who set up the WordPress account, remember him? Well, without much more direction than my passion for movies I set forward writing, every chance I got, about the good and the bad on the silver screen. It became an insatiable appetite and over time this hobby blog chugged its way (all 4 face-lifts and 36 months of posts/reviews/ramblings) to become, Go,See,Talk…or G-S-T for short. Seems like just yesterday we were getting excited about The Watchmen. Ahh, memories. Today Go,See,Talk gets out of the terrible two’s and attempts to…

New Feature – "The CineMagic 8-Ball"
The CineMagic 8-Ball (TM) is another new, weekly feature we have added in conjunction with our upcoming 3rd Anniversary of Go,See,Talk. When so many movies are released each weekend and trailers often seem better than the movie itself, what should one do? In this precarious situation, we consult the handy CineMagic 8-Ball to help us see through the nebulous marketing haze. Doing so just might save us all a disheartening trip to the cinema and spare us springing for $7 popcorn. Disclaimer: While The CineMagic 8-Ball (TM) may be the warning sign to avoid a chick flick of questionable quality, you may still unavoidably have to see it. Unfortunately a ‘chick flick escape clause’ is out…

Ohhh, Look…First 12 Minutes of Indie Flick 'Sound Of My Voice' – UPDATED
On Tuesday Fox Searchlight offered the first 2 minutes of their creepy new film Sound of My Voice and some of you probably wondered what about 120 seconds of footage was worth posting. Well first off, it was void of any credits so it was a full 2 minutes of material. Beyond that, it was really enticing/creepy and left off right when you wanted to know more. Well today you’re in luck as the studio has given us the first 12 minutes. For those unfamiliar with it, the official synopsis reads: Peter and Lorna, a couple and documentary filmmaking team, infiltrate a mysterious group led by an enigmatic young woman named Maggie. Intent…
