Ohhh, Look…Humorous 'Big Trouble in Little China' Gangnam Style Parody

Since Big Trouble In Little China is probably my favorite movie of all time (well it’s in the Top 3), I will never pass up a chance to post about BTiLC no matter how irreverent it may be. Case in point – Korean super star PSY has taken the world by storm with his chart topping “Gangnam Style” and as fun as that song is, now the web has another viral would be giant on its hands. But this jewel of the web comes not from the Far East but instead the West Coast; San Francisco, Chinatown to be precise. In this awesome parody of PSY’s global phenomenon, prepare to…

Ohhh, Look…Pixar Short 'Partysaurus Rex' In Full & On Line NOW!!

William Shakespeare once said that “brevity is the soul of wit“…to all you 21st century entertainment fiends that means that “less is more“. So while some Pixar fans might lament at the idea of the Toy Story bunch being relegated to a series of shorts before Disney/Pixar feature films, it’s not a bad thing. Why? Well it’s because the animation powerhouse is able to cram loads of content and heart into an uproarious 6 minute skit that is almost better than all three films combined. After 3 features, the world may not need another TS feature and I for one am fine with these short and sweet mini-adventures. So as movie goers who saw Pixar’s re-release of Finding Nemo…

Ohhh, Look…Johnny Depp Clip From Gervais/Merchant's 'Life's Too Short'

Last week we posted the trailer for the Ricky Gervais/Stephen Merchant hilarious looking faux-doc TV show Life’s Too Short. We already knew it would contain loads of the duo’s trademark awkward and uncomfortably brash comedy but below is our first look at what we can expect. Have a look after the jump and enjoy this short but snarky exchange that shows that, like an elephant, Johnny Depp never forgets…or forgives.

G-S-T Quick 5 – Things I Never Understood About 'Star Wars'

For the umpteenth time Star Wars has be re-released to the masses but for the first time ever it is available on Blu Ray…well sort of. In the SW universe there’s a fan base that has an absolute split contention about as polar as the Dark and Light side of the Force. It’s between fans of the original trilogy where half claim the ‘Theatrical Version’ is best, the other half of that fan base for some unknown reason really does enjoy the “Special Enhanced Editions”. Where do I stand? Easy, I’m in the first camp. I’m part of the millions of fans who were won over with the version that George claims…

Ohhh, Look…Common Film Cliche Iconographs To Promote NYLIFF

“Ah man, this fishing sucks, all we caught was a tire, a boot, an old tin can and this book of clichés”. Yeah, watch any movie these days and you’re bound to find more than the occasional cliche…even some that are intentionally thrown in as a wink and a nod to the audience. For laughs, the folks at the New York Latino International Film Festival have blown the whistle on some of the biggest offenders; those tried (tired really) and true elements of film that we’ve come to expect in sub-par films. But who are we kidding, we still love them even if they are so very unrealistic and overdone. Also it’s a pretty clever way to help promote their Film…

    While You Were Out…1/31 – 2/4

Yup, the Super Bowl is almost upon us and it’s pretty effen snow, cold, icy and more here in lovely Dallas. If it’s any consolation, fans of both the Packers and Steelers should feel right at home. Hey boys, don’t say the Big D never did anything for you:P This week we had some good trailers, news bits and if you missed any of it, here’s some of the more noteworthy items. So if you’re snowed in like us (yes Castor, 3 inches can debilitate an entire city if you don’t have the man power or utilities to clear the roads) please allow yourself the time to catch you up on this…

    While You Were Out…1/10 – 1/14

Well, another week has gone by and again I’ve been tied up beyond belief. On the bright side, work is good, life is good and things are awesome. The down side is that I’ve been neglecting G-S-T as well as everyone else’s awesome blogs (read: my entire blogroll) and that makes me sad. Don’t worry dear friends I’ll get back to my rounds soon. So in case you missed it, here’s what happened this week:

Nic Cage & Brett Ratner Should Be Stranded On An Island Somewhere…

Really, what purpose do Nicolas Cage films serve other than a chance for him to showcase his latest wig/hair do?? I admit I love The Rock and actually like the first National Treasure however those are two high points among a resume of  films where I personally find little else appealing. In my eyes, he offers nothing of value to any film and the crazy antics he’s know for just don’t fly in film these days. I will give him that he was pretty damn good in Bad Lieutenant and his small role in Kick Ass was unexpectedly hysterical but face it. You won’t stay in the Yankee’s starting line up…

Ohhh, look…Slew of 'Lucas Lee' Posters

I was reading Empire Online and was happy to see this little post from earlier this month. If you hadn’t seen Scott Pilgrim vs The World yet, calm down, yes that is Chris Evans, no he hasn’t changed his name and no, there really isn’t a slew of Chris Evans films you missed. These are fictitious posters used to advertise fictional character Lucas Lee very fictitiously in the fictional Scott Pilgrim (yup, I just used fictitious four times…I’m pretty awesome). After looking at them all they’re pretty goofy but still kinda neat. Anyway, have a look at the rest…
