For his follow up to the visually stunning TRON: Legacy, director Joseph Kosinski is really swinging for the fences. The post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller Oblivion has all the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster. For those of you who haven’t heard much about the project, and before you scroll down to the eye candy, check out the official synopsis below: Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete. Living and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is…

Ohhh, Look…Kermit and Cee Lo Green's "Bein' Green" Duet
We don’t usually report on things that air on TV (although we are considering focusing on one or more high profile series next year) but this was just too good to pass up. Last night, Muppet front man Kermit the Frog and friends made a special appearance on the hit NBC show “The Voice” where His Greeness sat down for a very special duet with one of the four hosts Cee Lo Green…see what they did there? While it was a subtle plug for their mutual contribution to his Christmas album “Cee Lo’s Magic Moment“, their rendition of the classic Kermit song was as charming and fun as it was nostalgic. For…

Informative Hour Long Filmmaking Master Class with Ang Lee
From the tweets and posts and finally the glowing review of Ang Lee‘s latest film, it should be clear that we at GoSeeTalk loved Life of Pi (check out our review here). The adaptation of the popular Yann Martel novel is a shining example of why we go to cinemas in the first place and is a reminder of what film/cinema is, can and should be. While I won’t get into much more lengthy praise here, I instead turn you to this video below where Lee discusses the process of making the visual/narrative benchmark that is Life of Pi. It’s a landmark film that really pushes storytelling to new heights and amazing to hear him…

Ohhh, Look…Ang Lee Talks Technical Marvels In 'Life of Pi'
The year is quickly wrapping up and one of the many anticipated films gracing theaters this Fall/Winter is Ang Lee’s Life of Pi. At one time the film, an adaptation of Yann Maretel‘s novel of the same name, was thought to be unfilmmable. Well it just goes to show that when an experienced and visionary director gets their hands on a projects (and this time with lots of help from an equally talented effects team) nothing is impossible. Basically, you can lock in your Oscar picks now. Life of Pi is going home with a boatload of golden statues next February…well, as long Lincoln and Argo don’t sweep the awards…

Ohhh, Look…More 007 Visual Candy; 'Skyfall' Intro and Bond Doc
Gotta love this Internet. The latest James Bond film, Skyfall, opened in US theaters less than a week ago. A massive hit already (deemed by some to be the best Bond yet) but now you can behold the marvelous opening title sequence without even setting foot in a cineplex! Though to the credit of Sam Mendes and Daniel Kleinman you should totally see this on the BIG screen. To those who know Bond, the films always feature a rather beautiful kaleidoscopic opening credits sequence. A combination of guns, girls, and a mix of foreshadowed plot and film footage, this wondrously dark sequence is perfectly complimented by Adele’s theme song which just…

Ohhh, Look…The Cars of James Bond Infographic
For those of you who have already seen Skyfall, you know that Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes and crew knocked the latest Bond outing out of the park. It is a brilliant mix of old and new that succeeds in pleasing die-hard fans (with smile-inducing nods and references) but also entertains a slew of audiences new to the franchise. One such nod and wink is in the form of perhaps the most famous of Bond cars, one almost as iconic as the secret agent himself, the Aston Martin DB5. But while Bond is know for his gadgets and girls, he’s also showcased in and been behind the wheel of some of the world’s most…

Ohhh, Look…Pixar Short 'La Luna' On-Line NOW!!
Most audiences on the planet automatically know that when going into a Pixar film they’ll be wow’d by great visuals and, more importantly, superb storytelling. But of equal and sometimes better quality are their fantastic short films like Partysaurus Rex. Case in point; this year, with Brave, we got the studio’s first Princess story but while it didn’t have quite the impact they regularly offer fans, the short La Luna couldn’t have been better. A wondrous story about a boy, his father and grandfather and their celestially custodial family business La Luna is magical and has the makings of a classic…if you could consider an animated short a classic that is. Today it showed up…

Ohhh, Look…Humorous 'Big Trouble in Little China' Gangnam Style Parody
Since Big Trouble In Little China is probably my favorite movie of all time (well it’s in the Top 3), I will never pass up a chance to post about BTiLC no matter how irreverent it may be. Case in point – Korean super star PSY has taken the world by storm with his chart topping “Gangnam Style” and as fun as that song is, now the web has another viral would be giant on its hands. But this jewel of the web comes not from the Far East but instead the West Coast; San Francisco, Chinatown to be precise. In this awesome parody of PSY’s global phenomenon, prepare to…

Ohhh, Look…Nintendo Characters Reimagined In Stunning Japanese Woodblock Artwork
A few months back our friends at Geekologie featured some stellar artwork from artist Jed Henry and printmaker David Ball (of Ukiyo-e Heroes). The duo’s work in Japanese woodblock should more than delight art enthusiasts and those from the 8-bit generation. Below are some signature pieces from the collection which show their take on the more famous Nintendo properties. Among them are some stunning renditions of The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong and Castlevania to name a few. Have a look and be amazed. Also, at the bottom, are two videos that show the intricate and painstaking color process for the Mario Kart piece. The Japanese word for Wow is Sugoi, but what’s the translation for effen amazing?!…

Ohhh, Look…Pixar Short 'Partysaurus Rex' In Full & On Line NOW!!
William Shakespeare once said that “brevity is the soul of wit“…to all you 21st century entertainment fiends that means that “less is more“. So while some Pixar fans might lament at the idea of the Toy Story bunch being relegated to a series of shorts before Disney/Pixar feature films, it’s not a bad thing. Why? Well it’s because the animation powerhouse is able to cram loads of content and heart into an uproarious 6 minute skit that is almost better than all three films combined. After 3 features, the world may not need another TS feature and I for one am fine with these short and sweet mini-adventures. So as movie goers who saw Pixar’s re-release of Finding Nemo…
