One of the most interesting things about a movie is when an actor dresses up in make-up or a costume and (when done well) there is a transformation to this character that is compelling and riveting. I’m no film historian but I have noticed something consistent in the films I’ve seen. While there’s no surefire formula for success in Hollywood, it’s a good bet that if you want to make it big, you have to start in horror. Now many people may not enjoy horror films but there are a number of uberly talented people working with buckets of blood, fake limbs and scary power tools. Kevin Costner, I Salute You!!
While I’ve long said that Kevin Costner is one of my favorite actors, this is yet another reason why I think the man is so great. While the BP oil disaster has been going on for far too long, I’m glad to see there’s some hope on the horizon.
