A story about family and coping with the unavoidable bonds between us, Being Flynn is, in short, about accepting who you are so you can try to fix your own problems. Adapted from Nick Flynn’s memoir “Another Bulls**t Night in Suck City” the film is about Nick and his father going a very long way to come to terms with one another. You can try to run from your family but you can’t run from DNA and being family means they butt heads…a lot. That tends to happen with movie families but these are real people with real problems. It can be morbidly funny and Nick’s writing/personal experiences yield a more bitter than…

Ohhh, Look…First Shot of Disney's 'Lone Ranger'
Today we get our first glimpse at Gore Verbinski’s Lone Ranger starring Armie Hammer as the titular hero and Johnny Depp as Tonto. After so many production delays/budget problems it looks like the Lone Ranger will finally get to ride. Hi Ho Silver! Have a look at the first shot of Hammer and Depp from Jerry Bruckheimer’s Twitter account. Since this has stopped and started so many times you might have forgotten what this is all about. If so, here’s the official synopsis: The Lone Ranger is a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny…

Sweet (Extended Red Band) Trailer…'21 Jump Street'
Next week we’ll see the big screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street. Sorry Johnny Depp fans, save for the name, it shares next to nothing in common with the 80’s TV show. We’ve seen a slew of trailers and TV spots but this extended Red Band trailer (thanks MTV) just might put them all to shame. There’s also some new footage that is really funny albeit NSFW. Doesn’t tread a lot of new ground as far as buddy cop/odd couple films go but it looks insane and personally, against my better judgement, I can’t wait. For those interested have a look… Get More: Movie Trailers, Movies Blog Directed by Phil Lord and…

Ohhh, Look…Behind-the-Scenes Set Shots – Aardman Animation’s 'The Pirates! Band of Misfits'
Aardman Animation is known for their stunning and lavish animation style. In their upcoming feature The Pirates! Band of Misfits they look to reset the bar they’ve been raising for nearly 40 years with the eye-popping and gorgeous animation that has become their trademark. But while that claymation may look simple, creating living breathing characters it is anything but. Below are a slew of photos showing the behind the scenes efforts to make the film as well as a great featurette (thanks to Collider for the heads up). Enjoy!! Aardman co-founder Peter Lord directs this delightful adaptation based on The Pirates! book series by Gideon Defoe. Much in the spirit of Wallace and Grommit and Chicken Run this looks like a clever, charming and hysterical return…

Sweet Trailer…'Men In Black 3' – UPDATED
For those of you who weren’t digging the teaser or the posters for MIIIB feast your eyes on the official first trailer. It’s pretty retro and based mostly in the 60’s which means the Smith/Jones chemistry we were hoping for is going to be minimal. Still Brolin does a pretty good job at channeling Jones so I think we’re all in for a treat. Enjoy! Now I may be alone in thinking this but that was the most promising thing we’ve seen yet. The scale looks bigger and I hope they deliver us a villain that is a little more menacing and threatening than MIB 1 and 2. Plus we…

Ohhh, Look…New 'Men In Black 3' Poster
I’m not sure what to call the third Men In Black. Is it MIB3, MIIIB, Men In Black 3 (cubed)? Well whatever it’s called, the name is really inconsequential as it’s not what’s going to have to make up for the let down that was MIB2. Personally I’m still reeling from that and I bet I’m probably not the only one. One thing the world could have done without was seeing such popular characters phone in what was essentially a cash grab. So after a decade without the first last only line of defense against the worst scum of the universe, Agents J and K are back for a third outing. In December we…

Sweet (Teaser) Trailer…'Frankenweenie'
Looks like trailer week continues as today we’re treated to the teaser for Tim Burton’s long awaited Frankenweenie. This animated feature, expanded from his short from 1984, is about a boy who brings his dead dog back to life. Similarly styled and stop-motion animated like A Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, this should hit home for those die-hard Burton fans out there. I’m not the biggest Nightmare Before Christmas fan but this does look pretty cute. Have a look… Originally when Burton created the short film in ’84 Disney fired him for making something that was apparently too scary for family audiences. This feature length film has certainly been a long time coming…

Sweet (Teaser) Trailer…'Neighborhood Watch'
Here’s a little something to help you finish up your day. The video below is a teaser trailer for the new comedy Neighborhood Watch starring Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade. It’s not great but it has enough humor to possibly get a chuckle out of you. Have a look… It does seem ho-hum even for a teaser, but I wouldn’t write it off yet as this is directed by Akiva Schaffer and written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Sure you might think it has a sort of a Dodgeball meets Wild Hogs aging hipster vibe but the teaser is a bit misleading. FOr some clarification,…

Sweet 2nd Trailer…'The Avengers'
The Super Bowl TV spot gave us a really good look at Joss Whedon’s Avengers adaptation and now we have a much grander glimpse at this epic action film. Have to say it’s looking better and better and May 4th is just about 2 months away. Avengers Assemble!! Joss Whedon’s film adaptation of the Marvel comic series features Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. Oh, and in case you missed it yesterday an official poster was released. Have a look at the team (more or less) in action. Click on it to see the hi-res version… The Avengers is set to slam into…

Ohhh, Look…'Prometheus' Viral – Guy Pearce As Peter Weyland For TED Talk 2023
To promote Promotheus, Ridley Scott’s prequel/not-a-prequel to 1979’s Alien, comes this really neat introduction and apparent tie-in video (thanks to /Film for the heads up). What you’ll see below is the reveal of Guy Pearce’s character in the upcoming film who, in the words of Sir Ridley, is pretty much the only true link between these two films. The video shows Peter Weyland of the Weyland Corp. That’s right, half of the famous Weyland-Yutani corporate entity. Does the Nostromo ring any bells?? See, told you it was neat…but I’ll let the video do the rest of the explaining. Enjoy!! Check out more of the viral talk at the official TED2023 page. Also, if you…
