G-S-T Quick 5 – Things I Never Understood About 'Star Wars'

For the umpteenth time Star Wars has be re-released to the masses but for the first time ever it is available on Blu Ray…well sort of. In the SW universe there’s a fan base that has an absolute split contention about as polar as the Dark and Light side of the Force. It’s between fans of the original trilogy where half claim the ‘Theatrical Version’ is best, the other half of that fan base for some unknown reason really does enjoy the “Special Enhanced Editions”. Where do I stand? Easy, I’m in the first camp. I’m part of the millions of fans who were won over with the version that George claims…

G-S-T Top 10 – Actors Unable to Escape Their Characters

This Top 10 goes out to all the talented actors out there who just don’t get a fair shake in Hollywood. Sure, many celebrities on this list have made obscene fortunes on their respective cinematic personalities, and are capable thespians. But success does have its downside; namely the inability for the actor in question to get a sufficient role or body of work to help distance them from such a solid, iconic, memorable or even annoying character. Now, to be fair, some of the actors on this list are very talented performers. Yet all their efforts fall by the wayside due to one singular role (or roles) that very nearly define…

G-S-T Top 10 – Scenes I Could Watch Over and Over and Over (Part II)

Since I had so much fun with our last post about a number of scenes I could watch on never ending repeat, her are 10 more I find equally pleasing. Note: As is the case with most videos on You Tube there is a wide range in both quality and legitimacy to these clips. In other cases, a specific scene I wanted was just nowhere to be found or if it was has been edited by some dope which ultimately diminishes the integrity of the clip and the point I was trying to make. Anyway, here they are…Enjoy!

May the 4th Be With You…

Hello World, Marc Here: As you probably already know today is May the 4th which leads Star Wars fans to effortlessly (and endlessly) utter “May the 4th Be With You” to everyone they meet. Hey, guilty as charged. Now while I would just love to get neck deep in a raving love letter to the SW universe (sans the prequels of course), I simply cannot. Not that I don’t love the happenings from “A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far Away“, no, I just don’t have the time or the energy to do so:P That said, on this hallowed day of geeky badassery, I’ll simply refer you to some…

Random Film Thought of the Day…11.17.09

The Family Guy ‘Empire’ spoof I wrote a few days ago has got me thinking about something I’ve been pondering for years but just now felt like writing about it.  I guess I just needed some inspiration…or a segue.  Now, I don’t think there’s but a handful of people on the Earth that don’t know about Star Wars.  It’s a cultural phenomenon and Mr. Lucas is the mad genius who started it all.  Well, things have changed since old George began with Episode IV and as a fan, (and I know I’m not alone on this) I believe there’s a great number of us who find fault after fault with the…

    Did a bad, bad thing…

Hello World, Marc Here: I thought I’d tell you about something I did which is a little dumb and I am kind of regretting my wasted time on said activity.  At work, I’m lucky enough to get to wear headphones to help my day along.  However, what I have coming through those headphones may or may not help me through the day.  Case in point:  I have always wanted to listen to the commentaries on movies I own but just can’t stand sitting in my living room and watching a movie and having to endure what may end up being a boring account of the film’s creative process.  So to…
