    The Film Feed: Episode 26

Fellow movie lovers Sean Hunter, Clark Lamson, and Will Schiffelbein over at Firstshowing.net have a long running podcast they call “The Film Feed“.  If you haven’t taken a listen to any of their casts, you really should.  These guys are smart, funny and well versed in most films.  They offered me a special guest host opportunity and on behalf of G-S-T, I overwhelmingly accepted. This episode is a ‘double feature‘ with a review of District 9 with guest host Jay Runham and yours truly chiming in via Skype for the review of G.I. JOE: The Rise of Cobra. Please excuse the poor connection and sadly a lot of my contributions…

    G-S-T Review…Inglourious Basterds

Quentin Tarantino, of such great character films like Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill has completely re-written the Enzo G. Castellari story of the U.S. soldiers in WWII occupied France for his remake of the 1978 cult classic The Inglorious Bastards.  Having little to do with the events of the original, QT wove one very well written and directed film that I have to say right off impressed me thoroughly. PREMISE: Brad Pitt leads a team of Jewish American soldiers in France to carry out one simple order: spread fear throughout the Third Reich by ” killin’ Nazis”.  Teaming with members of the French resistance, they prepare to execute a secret…

    Sweet Trailer…'The Wolfman'

Now this is a surprise!  Not a word of this movie was uttered between last year’s Comic-Con and now, then all of a sudden we get production photos a few days ago, and then BAM! one very incredible trailer.  For those of you who have seen it I would image we are all impressed with what we were given.  I for one was holding no hope for this film for a variety of reasons, so maybe that’s why I was excited that I thought I would be after watching the trailer.  There’s just something about the quality level of this particular trailer that made me watch it over and over…

    Site Update: G-S-T Rating System

Hello World, Marc here: We have recently changed our site’s name to Go,See,Talk! and among the other planned changes that will come with it, one item arose that needed addressing; our review/rating system.  While we don’t have anything standardized (like say “thumbs” or “stars” or even numbers) we used to have our own little creative device, which tied to our old name when we were G-C-T.  In the past, if we loved something, its a Great Cinematic Treasure, and if we hated something, it is Great Cinematic Trash.  So now Go,See,Talk! we will keep those rating designations but we realize we were missing an intermediate rating system for vast middle ground between…

Sweet Trailers…’Legion’ and ‘The Fourth Kind’

OK, I guess my attempt to continue writing quality posts/opinions about the wonderful world of films resulted in this just being a week of posting trailers.  Not exactly flexing my literary muscle but hey, it’s been a pretty long and drawn out week so less work is (to aptly and redundantly put it) less work. So to send you to the weekend with a double case of awesome and excellent, here are two trailers for what looks to be some just kick ass and plain scary (respectively) movie going fun.  First up is the new Screen Gems movie Legion, starring Paul Bettany, Dennis Quaid, Tyrese Gibson and Kevin Durand.  Interesting…

    Sweet Trailer…'Law Abiding Citizen'

Last week I wrote this post about the new poster for Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx‘s new movie Law Abiding Citizen.  As intriguing as the premise was I took an apprehensive stance simply becasue this movie popped up out of nowhere with out much news leading up to it (and that’s usually a bad sign…do you hear me ‘I Love You Beth Cooper’?) Anyway, a trailer was just premiered on Entertainment Tonight and boy am I on board now!!  This looks so much better than I thought and I’m excited to see more!!  Have a look and enjoy…talk about a good way to end a ho-hum Thursday:) What do you…

    G-S-T Quick 5 – Underrated Animated Films

Growing up with animated features, one of the things I never really cared for in Disney films were the musical numbers.  I was always more interested in the story, the characters and the interaction of the two.  As I got a little older it seemed only natural that I gravitated toward Anime.  I could care less for the singing and dancing but if the story was engaging, I was hooked.  Below is the list of my top 5 animated films that I find enjoyable but are severely underrated.  They didn’t make huge box office numbers and were, for the most part, ultimately passed over by many movie goers, although I…

G-S-T Review…G.I. JOE: The Rise of Cobra

Out of all the animated series that made the 80’s one of the funnest times to be a kid, G.I JOE is the “real American Hero” and thanks to the efforts of Mr.Camp himself (Stephen Sommers) we are treated to a wild, live-action adaptation of Hasbro’s classic and beloved franchise. I think it was a globally understood fact that this film was just going to be a “check your brain at the door” Summer pop-corn flick.  That said, along those lines, and aside from definite missteps and problems, I will say that the film still delivered the goods.

Oh happy day for all you Gelfling fans!!  I just got done reading this ‘nostalgia pleasing’ post from MTV where it seems that, after years of rumors and off/on production details, the sequel to the beloved The Dark Crystal is now one step closer to pre-production and ultimately, the Silver Screen!!  In the post, Brian Henson (son of Legendary Jim Henson) talks about how this movie and a Fraggle Rock film are “Ready to Go”, they just need to finalize some financing…hit this link to read the full post… The Dark Crystal is a film that I just love!!  Now, I’ll tell you right off the bat that I’m not…
