Well this is shaping up to be a trailer packed week but can you blame me, there’s just been a good number to go around. This one however doesn’t need a set up so I’ll get right to it. Here we are with a fantastic trailer courtesy of our great friends at First Showing. Basically its District 9 meets Blackhawk Down (or what would have happened if the aliens from ID4 actually landed) and that equals AWESOME!! The word epic gets thrown around waaay to much thanks in large part to the over-dependence of CG, but I’ll spare you my opinion save to ask you this. After what you just saw, can…

It's a Trap! – The Final 'Family Guy' Star Wars Spoof Coming Soon…
Well talk about good news to kick off the weekend. From the mind of Seth MacFarlane and his genius comic crew comes the final installment of their Star Wars spoof trilogy. It was about this time last year that their Empire spoof titled Something, Something, Something Darkside was announced. Well as it’s that time of year again, now I know what I want for Christmas. This is awesome news but Holy Lightsaber Luke! Where have I been that I’m only now hearing about this?? Thanks to Cinematical for the heads up. Of course if you haven’t picked up any of the previous versions, Amazon is running a sweet deal offering the trilogy…

The World's End – Final Leg of the "The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy"?
Calling all you Wright, Pegg and Frost fans out there!! Seems like years ago the trio had us cracking up with the comic gold that is Shaun of the Dead. Hot Fuzz was an excellent (albeit more serious) follow up and then….a big nothing. Pegg took a trip on the Enterprise and later re-teamed with Frost for the upcoming Paul. All the while Wright went on to successfully adapt Scott Pilgrim vs the World (which I just loved). But while we heartily enjoy their separate and collaborative efforts, fans began wondering about when they would continue/conclude Wright’s fabled “Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy”. Well dear friends news of that day has come…well in some form at least From our friends…

Sweet (Teaser) Trailer…'Kung Fu Panda 2'
OK I have to admit that of the ho-hum and forgettable past Dreamworks Animation pictures, I was extremely surprised with Kung Fu Panda. While I believe that Jack Black is a dish made tolerable in small doses, he fit the character Po perfectly; clumsy, pitiful but still heartwarmingly hilarious. Anyway Dreamworks has been working on the follow up titled Kung Fu Panda 2: The Kaboom of Doom and it’ll actually be here pretty soon. For now, take a look at the teaser trailer below… This upcoming animated film and the sequel to the 2008 film, Kung Fu Panda will be presented in 3-D. Directed by Jennifer Yuh, this sequel follows Po…

Sweet Trailer…'Hall Pass'
Here we have the trailer Owen Wilson’s latest film Hall Pass. While I do like the guy I think his novelty has worn off. Personally speaking he’s just not making anything of value anymore; merely collecting paychecks with his quirky humor. But in this economy, a job is a job and we should all be so lucky right? However this is a Farrelly Brothers film and looks like his brand of humor could be a good fit for their style of writing. While their films have been more and more disappointing, this one may just work. Anyway have a look and let me know what you think… Owen Wilson and SNL’s…

Sweet Trailer…'London Boulevard'
OK now here’s a trailer to get you excited…well maybe not excited but interested. Colin Farrell, alongside Keira Knightley and Ray Winstone, stars in the new crime thriller London Boulevard. As you’ll see below, the trailer isn’t exactly straightforward so let me refer you to the synopsis from IMDb: “London Boulevard” is the story of a man newly released from prison who falls in love with a reclusive young movie star and finds himself in a duel with a vicious gangster. Hmm, maybe the trailer is more expository. Have a look and let me know what you think… Maybe it’s just me but I’m reminded of Layer Cake which I think…

Film Community Potluck Series…'Top Secret!'
For years I have heard great things about Top Secret! but for whatever reason just hadn’t seen it. Now thanks to the current round of movie recommendations at Anomalous Material (suggested by Dan) I have just knocked one hilarious 80’s gem of my “To See” list. A long time coming yes but this was definitely up my alley and in short is a spoof movie with few equals. To start off I must state that there’s two kinds of Val Kilmer out there. First is the ultra-talented method actor who is able to channel the likes of well anyone (e.g. Jim Morrison). Then there’s an equally charismatic Kilmer who, without trying, can…
